Well since he's a major music fan, I would take him to a concert. Of course, it'd have to be a Green Day one since Blink 182 quit =( Well I'm sure he has other favorites, but you only mentioned those two, but anyways, I'm sure he'd LOVE to go to one of their concerts =) Or maybe try and go online like on ebay or something and go try and buy something signed by the band.. but that can get pretty expensive, so I'd just stick with the concert =) Hope I helped!!
