Hi. I have scars on my legs. Even though I'm medium-toned (I'm African American), my scabs sitl show. Does anybody know what cream, ointment, etc. to use to get rid of them quickly and how long would it take to go away? Thanks.
DancingKiwi123 answered Friday July 1 2005, 9:38 pm: there are like bandage things that will help fade the scars but i'm not sure what they are called. im guessing they would be by the bandaids and stuff at shopko or walmart. ~Kerri~ [ DancingKiwi123's advice column | Ask DancingKiwi123 A Question ]

Ignorance_Combatant answered Thursday June 30 2005, 11:12 pm: Coco Butter lotion. That will really help. Mary Kay, Avon, and most other large companies sell it, so does Wal*Mart, Target, CVS, etc. You know, I think that scabs would show up on darker skin more than they would lighter skin. I have many small scars and two big scars, and the coco butter helped me alot. Though, don't use it near your eyes. I have a scar in the very corner of my eye, and I'd love to get rid of it, but I am NOT brave enough to put lotion there! (Also, the bottle says not to put it near eyes. That might hurt...)
Also, if you have a cut or scab, be sure to cover it up with a Band-Aid and put neosporin or pollysporin on it. Pollysporin is my favorite because it is SO strong and so effective. If you do that, it will greatly reduce the risk of getting scars. But I know I don't cover my cuts up as often as I should...
