Can a pregnant cat use this?

Question Posted Saturday June 25 2005, 10:58 am

I am wondering if it is safe to use LymDyp on a pregnant cat? She just wandered here this morning and she has a bit of the mange. I want to clean her up before I take her to the vet.
If I use it on her, what's the worst thing that could happen? What if she licks herself?

You definately shouldn't try to clean her up before taking her to the vet.

How is it that you are sure that she has mange. And if you are 100% posative that it's mange, how can you be sure what kind of mange it is?

The Vet won't even be able to be 100% posative until he/she can get some testing done on the cat. They will need to take samples of all of the affected areas and test them. This means that they will need to take some "dirty" skins samples, then clean it themselves, take a sample, and the take some deeper skin samples.

You should never try to treat something like that on your own, especially on a pregnant cat.

You shouldn't dip the cat unless you have a vet who told you it is alright. Besides that, it could be demodectic mange and not sarcoptic mange which would completely effect the outcome. Just take her to the vet, it's your safest bet and she needs an exam anyway if she is pregnant.
