nobody RSVPS....

Question Posted Wednesday June 8 2005, 5:32 pm

OK so im having a party soon ( a sweet 16) and i realllly need a head count of who can come. normallyy if we were making all the food i wouldnt care ..but its going to be catered so if i tell them 80 are coming and only 30 show up...that wont be good...lots of food will be wasted...and lottss of money.
i hear talk about how everyone is excited to go because there is an after parrty in an indoor pool at this hotel..but im not getting the RSVPS ! I got 25 confirmed so far...between the few who called and the few i asked if they were def coming.
what are some ideas of how to get a headcount! should i pass a paper around saying put ur name here if you plan on coming? somethin...i dont have time in school to ask everyone myself..so what can i do? i need to have an idea of who will be coming by friday.
does this happen in your schools too? or is it just mine..because in past parties nobody has RSVP 'd really either...

I've had to deal with this a lot, but considering that my parties are the shit, everyone RSVPS. lol.

Okay, first, if the people who are going to your party from your school mostly, then I would just get the word out. You can not be a bitch about it, and just start talking about your Sweet16, and then obviously, people LOVE talking about parties.

Then casually just ask, hey are you coming? blahblah.

What not to do, don't be desperate about it because people MIGHT make a joke about it or whatever.

You want them to feel like your sweet16 is going to be amazing, so that they WANT to go to one.

You could make flyers, and on aim[[if you have it]] for your away have like --
Type "2" if your plannin 2 go 2 my sweet 16!
Type "3" if you cant make it
or something like that..
Call people..Make a list of everyone you want to invite..photo-copy the list..hand the list to your friends and pass it around to peopl.. like put it on hot pink paper or something bright!!
Tell them at the ending of the flyer that you MUST RSVP buy Thrusday..that way you'll no ahead of time..also..put your number on the flyer like-
****PLEASE RSVP [[your name]] BY THRUSDAY!!****
[[your name]] -- [[your number]]
********HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE!! **********
good luck and please rate me!!

We'll you should really probablly make this a big deal at your school. And get some friends to ask around and see who is comming. And it would be better to have more food than less but it would be a waste of money.i hope i helped
