Hello, I am a girl and I want to buy an at home waxing kit for my face, mainly my upper lip and my eyebrows. I have sensitive skin. Im not that educated on waxing. I dont know the difference between, hot waxing, cold waxing, 'sugaring', and no heat waxing, ready to use strips, or something. There seems to be alot of products by sally hansen. My question is, which is the best, easiest, and cheapest one to buy? Keep in mind my skin is a little sensitive, and I dont have alot of money, either. 10 dollars is even alot for me. I also dont want the hair to grow back very fast, i just got a wax on my uperlip and it was a very bad job and grew back in 2 days. Any suggestions on which little kit thing i should buy (no nads)? THANKS!

The kind I use is not only cheap, but works way better than ready-to-use strips and hot waxing. Plus it last 6 to 8 weeks! It is called Surgi-Wax. It comes in various sizes but has a small size specifically for the upper lip and smaller regions. All you have to do is heat up the wax in the microwave for 30 seconds, take it out, and with a small spatula, spread it on a small area at a time, opposite the growth of the hair follicles. You let the wax dry a few seconds and then pull. It gets every single hair and is not very painful. And it costs only about $5.95 at drugstores. The difference between it and every other product out there: It uses no strips, which barely grab the hairs, and only seem to pull out a few, leaving a gross, hard to clean residue on your skin. It requires minimum amount of heating and can be reused all the time. The regular "heat up" waxes are messy and you still have to use strips, which are confusing and hardly work at all. Surgi-Wax uses no strips, is not messy, and is very quick and easy to use. Trust me, it works. And I have tried all the waxes out there. This one is the best and I would never use any other kind. I hope you try it. ~Sherah [ LiLReBeL6907's advice column | Ask LiLReBeL6907 A Question ]
LuvSoFbaL2 answered Thursday June 2 2005, 10:51 pm: hot waxing would probably be the best for you because it makes your skin softer that way it wont hurt as much when thay wax it. DONT BUY KITS THEY NEVER WORK! [ LuvSoFbaL2's advice column | Ask LuvSoFbaL2 A Question ]
aDoRkAbLe_Co0kIe_ answered Thursday June 2 2005, 10:28 pm: well heres some waxing basics for you first:
Hot waxing: where you heat the wax up. but if you heat wax be sure not to get it too hot to where you burn your skin!
cold waxing: just regular wax usually attached to strips, which are patted onto the skin I believe its not supposed to be as painful as hot waxing (in my opinion neither hurt)
sugar waxing: no different than regular waxing, ive never tried it but people who have swear that it doesnt hurt at all(this may be your best option)
No heat waxing: the exact same thing as "cold" waxing
ready to use strips: just a term which means that the strips are already cut into pieces for you to use.
i'm not sure on the whole easiest, best and cheapest because i havent tried many waxes...but since you say you have sensitive skin try anything thats sugar wax. they also have things where you can bleach your hair but i dont know if you can on your face...esp. yours since its sensitive. My advice: stick to sugar waxing..and if thats too hard you COULD try cold wax..but whatever you do DONT DONT DONT DONT DONT buy those creams that "melt" away hair! it will do absolutely nothing but irritate your skin! and cause really bad rashes! and a little tip...when you wax...make sure you put some sort of soothing lotion over the area you waxed after you clean your face off! most waxes come with it but if not i spose you can buy some! hope i helped and good luck! Sporkster answered Thursday June 2 2005, 10:07 pm: Try the Sugar Wax kit by Sally Hansen. My brother's wife uses it and she says it's great. She has really sensitive skin, so she has to be careful about what products she uses. She says that it goes on really well, and that it doesn't cause any redness or allergic reactions. She said the hair grew back in about two weeks, so it lasts a decent amount of time. The kit isn't that expensive, I don't think, so it'll be easy on your wallet (purse?).
