Try running every morning, swimming for an hour every day, doing fitness tapes that include cardio workouts & toning. Also, you've probably heard this before, for about a week, write down everything you eat in a day. You can see what you're eating & change it. Take out sodas & junk food. You can probably lose up to a few pounds a week by working out & watching what you eat. Go for it girl, you'll feel better & look better! [ neeny's advice column | Ask neeny A Question ]
xxfilmingfrenzyxx answered Thursday June 2 2005, 4:04 pm: Well, to lose weight fat then i would run a lot and do sit ups and stuff like that to lose inches fast. Take a 10-15 minute run everyday and start to eat better. Cut down on snacks and sugar. Sugar turns into carbs which turns into fat. So, just follow those things and you'll be set.
Hope i helped. If you have any more questions feel free to ask them.
cailoisa answered Thursday June 2 2005, 1:35 pm: Cut out sugar. Sugars tend to great straight to your stomach area. (That's why people get beer bellies!) Other than that, do crunches for your upper tummy, leg lifts for your lower tummy, and side leg lifts and side crunches for the sides of your tummy.
After you get to a good weight, slowly add a little bit of sugar back in, because a little bit is good for you, and you don't want to go too long without it. [ cailoisa's advice column | Ask cailoisa A Question ]

They have certain healthy foods you should eat and things like that. you can still eat meat , but no pasta , nobread. you could even work out some , maybe running for a little while. do you have a Ymca by you ? because then you join and work out there , they have a pool and a place to work out and things like that . <3*mDezzy----> [ mdezzy16's advice column | Ask mdezzy16 A Question ]

rainbowsend answered Thursday June 2 2005, 1:41 am: I would think that with being on swim team, you'd be in pretty good shape. That said, you're probably getting enough exercise. To step up your healthyness, watch what you eat. I'm not saying diet. Eat healthy, drink lots of water, cut back on fatty/sugary junk food. Whole grains, veggies, fruits, low-fat dairy.. all are important staples in a healthy diet.
Doing crunches will help the stomach area. Try making a routine of doing them for a few minutes either just before bed, or in the morning, or whatever time would be convenient in your schedule. Playing music is a great way to keep track- do crunches for say 2-3 songs with a good rythym. Step it up- either speed or time, as it gets too easy. Mix it up with different types of crunches.
That said, doing sit-ups/cruches alone is NOT going to make you lose 35 lbs.
The important thing about body image is not how much you weigh, but in how you carry yourself. The pretty girls aren't always the most physically attractive ones- they're the ones who seem attractive because of their confidence in their bodies and attitude.
If you sit at the side of the pool wrapped in your towel and slouched, watching your friends have all the fun, then of course no boy will notice you (not saying this is you- just making an example). However, if you put yourself in the action- strike up a conversation with a guy, laugh, smile, flirt, your confidence and bright shining personality will show through.
So stand up straight (good posture is attractive), smile and laugh lots (but not so much it's fake), and just generally have a good time. Wear clothes that you feel good in, that suit your body type and flatter your best features.
