I'm 16 and me and my boyfriend have been dating for almost a month now. We broke up for like 3 days but got back together. Everything has been going good...at least that's what I thought. Then this afternoon at school I went to the cafeteria and we were messing around. Well everytime I moved closer to him he moved away from me so I moved away and was like F*** you B****. As a joke but then he got all mad it seemed. He acted almost like a 4 year old child. When the bell rang he just walked away like normal and I tried to ask him what was wrong but he kept saying nothing. When I asked him to at least to say good-bye but he just walked away. At lunch he usually sits by me but he just walked past me and sat down on the other side of my friend Bobby. I went over to him and asked him what was wrong. He told me he had to move back to Chesterfield with his mom this summer. I left cause I didn't want him to see me cry. I don't know what to think. I can't believe his father would do that to him. I want to believe he is making this up but I don't know why he would except to break up with me. Can someone please help me. I'm begging you..please help me. What do I do?

He probably knew ahead of time that he was going to have to move. And that is why he kept moving away from you. Some guys are like this. When they know that they are going to be leaving and they arent going to see the person they care about anymore they do one of two things: 1. They cling to you and want to get every last moment with you before they leave, or 2. They become pulled back and don't open up. Your boyfriend is using the second method. He is like this because he feels that it is easier to start letting you go right then, instead of making it even harder by holding on, knowing that it will only be more painful for both of you. Just sit him down and talk to him. Tell him how you feel and ask him why he has to leave and why you and him can't be together. Be sympathetic and try to get him to open up. Hopefully things will turn out for the better. Good luck! Tell me what happens if you want. ~Sherah [ LiLReBeL6907's advice column | Ask LiLReBeL6907 A Question ]
i_define_weird answered Tuesday May 31 2005, 7:55 pm: that's probably why he was moving away from you each time you tried to move closer to him. He doesn't want to make it harder for him to move away from you. When he moves, he's probably going to be extremely sad. I think he was acting that way because he doesn't want to become more closer to you because when he leaves, he doesn't want to make it harder for you two to separate. I dont know if that helped at all what so ever, but i hope it was a little help. [ i_define_weird's advice column | Ask i_define_weird A Question ]
