BIG PROBLEM!!!

Question Posted Tuesday May 24 2005, 8:49 pm

Okay, so today was the last day of school for me, and yesterday i brought my dad's digital camera (Casio Exilim EX-M2) to take some pictures. well, for some reason the camera began to say "SYSTEM ERROR" after nothing really happened to it. i just tried to turn it on and thats waht it said. I've been trying to figure out a way to reset the camera, or just get it to work agian, but nothing anyone's told me to do has worked. I havent told my dad yet because it's a REALLY expensive camera and he'll kill me. i just need to get it fixed before he find's it broken, I'LL RATE 5 FOR ANY REAL ATTEMPTS TO HELP!!

You'll have to tell him eventually... you can either:

a) bring it to a repair shop. They will be able to tell you what's wrong with your camera

b) tell your dad what happend. If he threatens to kill you, offer to pay for a new camera.

well you can just give him back the camera and act like nothing happened and make him think that he ruined his camera. but that would be cowardly. you could tell him what you did or you can ask maybe your sibling to help you fix it. hope i helped

I got a digital camera recently as an early birthday gift! It was great--not as nice as the one you described--but mine was still a high quality camera. I got the camera to take on my vacation to California. But guess what--I LOST MY CAMERA TWO WEEKS BEFORE MY TRIP! I was in tears everynight, because I was afraid to tell my dad too! Finally-a week before my vacation-I broke down and told me, and what he did was calmed me down, and helped my find my camera. After two days of searching everywhere-we found it!

The reason I told you this is because I really think that the best thing to do is tell your dad. I am guessing you are getting that same guilty/sick feeling in your stomache I had. Who knows--maybe your dad knows what was wrong with the camera--and knows what to do when it does that! The worst thing that could happen is he gets a little upset. Its not like you lost the camera--or dropped it and broke it in pieces--it just has a little kink in it. And if he can't fix it--he probably knows someone to ask, who will know how!

Remember that this is just a camera-and no matter how expensive it is--I can guarantee you that it will not ruin your relationship with your dad! It will work out, things always do in life!
