scar help??

i just had surgery and its going to leave a scar... the surgery was on my face.. but what sort of medication/creams should i use to make the scar less visbale?? thank you so much!!

ive heard that mederma helps... but are there any others?? ill rate--if u ask!! thanks!!.

You might try cocoa butter. That seems to work with alot of my scar problems from nasty cuts I get on the job. ^^

Almost everyone I know has used almond oil. You have to wait til it isn't 'raw' anymore if you know what I mean, and then you gently massage it on about two times a day. Other than that have a look on the internet or go to a oharmacy as they might have some good ideas too. Hope this helps a little

As the wound heals put a very thin coating of Vasiline on it. Keep the area protected and soft with this, then when the area heals it will have healthier skin and the scaring will not be as bad. Follow up with mederma to help lessen anything left. I had a big birthmark removed and this is what my dermo. suggested. It worked great. Remember, a very light coating of Vasiline. Too much makes the scab too moist and it will peal.
