Hey guys/girls, watsup? I am trying to learn Aikido and it would be great if anyone could give me some good websites with good videos or just tips, etc. on how to learn Aikido, any information would be greatly appreciated. I rate high!
The tip I have for you is this: You don't learn Aikido without at LEAST a partner. A school would be preferable.
Regarding the advice below: Anybody who learns what Aikido is really about would not show up at someone's place of practice looking for a fight. Aikido is non-agressive. I find ignorance of this kind painful.
...at the last one here, please read the 20th century Samurai article.
Be sure you want to learn Aikido. It isn't about "kicking someone's ass." It is about having the knowledge that you are capable of defending yourself. You will be VERY good at defending yourself, but will not be skilled in attacking or, rather, starting a fight.
This bit about "...these guys saw the matrix..." well, I can tell you this much, I didn't feel really accomplished in Aikido for about 12 years.
This is not something you learn overnight, and it is more a way of life than anything else.
