You should only serve overhand because underhand serving makes your look weak.
**just remember this**
When you over hand serve
1. position you feet a comfortble distance for one another
2. when you go forward to toss hte ball up shift you weight to the front of you feet.
3. Throw ball slightly above your head
4.Then when you go to hit the ball shift your weight to the heels of you feet.
5and when you hit stop your hand like you giving a hih five for beter control

MFS answered Friday April 22 2005, 11:38 pm: You don't need really strong arms to serve well. Serving is all about technique. It is about proper body posture, getting a good toss, and then using your arm swing along with follow-through to utilize the momentum of your whole body to propel the ball. Also, it matters if you're trying to place serve or serving floaters.
You don't need a really strong arm. Just good technique. Practicing your serve a lot is the best option. Start by making sure you have a consistent toss. Know where you want the ball to be so that you can get a solid hit on the ball. Swing your arm and follow through, taking a step as you hit the ball, but don't step onto the court AFTER you've contacted the ball. Let the step you take ad the force of your body to the ball. When serving, don't look at the net, look beyond the net to where you want the ball to land. [ MFS's advice column | Ask MFS A Question ]

Karen answered Friday April 22 2005, 10:21 pm: To build up arm muscles so you can serve better, you can lift weights, run while hold those light weights, and doing push ups. Basically, any activity/sport that involves you to use your arms will help build muscle in your arms. [ Karen's advice column | Ask Karen A Question ]
