Yes, there is a way to get more than one screen name on AIM without using AIM+ and that's by linking all your screen names.
To do that, you need sign onto one of your screen names and on your buddylist, go to My AIM, click on Manage Linked Screen Names, then click on the button that says Link/Unlink Screen Names, and then just type in your other screen name and its password and your screen names will then be linked together. You then need to sign off and sign on again.

I heard of something called deadaim which I'm sure allows you to be on two screenames at once.I don't know the exact link to the site, but if you search google look for deadaim and that might help

not sure if this is what you want but ill give it a try
first on your buddy list window on the top toolbar is a button and it says " My AIM"
click on it and in the drop down menu there is another button that says "Manage linked screen names" click on that
on the pop-up cliock the button " Link/unlink screen names"
in the next button ass your screen name you want to link to your other one. add your screen name and password. after that click " done "
now log off and log back on. there should be two buttons that have both of your screen names on you buddy list window.
