Is jealousy the right answer?

Question Posted Friday August 8 2008, 3:24 pm

Hey,I'm a 16 year-old female I have recently broke up with my boyfriend. We still liked each other then my best friend started liking him. He told me he would never like her and that he liked me but the next day my friend and him were going out. She knew I still had strong feelings for him. What should I do to try to get him back? Is making him jealous the right answer? If so what should I do to make him jealous

Well, first of all, you are talking about TWO friends here! That is, if they REALLY are your friends and are not just merely acquaintances!

You say that YOU broke up with your boyfriend? WHY? In other words, HE did not break up with you? Then your friend has every right to pursue HIM ! ! ! ! ! It does not matter what she knows about how you like him, YOU broke up with HIM ???? And now you are asking if YOU should make HIM feel jealous???? <blink> <blink>

Well, the only thing you can do is to tell him you made a stupid teenage mistake and you miss him and you want him back... BUT... what about your friend now? Could it be possible that HE is making YOU jealous by HIS going with your friend? You better think about THAT!

Well, I don't know. I do not know you or your boyfriend or your friend. Do not do TWO stupid things! Be adult about it even though you are inexperienced with romance and have probably made a mess of things! You need to talk to him, and if he wants you back, be prepared for your having hurt your friend and making her mad at you for spoiling HER relationship with your boyfriend. So do NOT play games here, you have TWO friends to account for and to try to repair your relationships with! And next time you break up with somebody, make damn good and sure you really mean to not be involved with him!

As Stanley said to Laurel in the Laurel and Hardy movies, "This is a fine kettle of fish you got us into this time!"

Good luck!

Don't try to make him jealous..
I say sit your friend down and tell her how you feel about this whole thing and talk it out make it right.. This is what i do with my friends in these situations and it works..

Then go and talk to him about it..
If you still liked him why break up ?
Just express yourself to him and tell him its not right to date your best friend if he doesnt like her..
And, I think he was just trying to make you jealous if thats how it went .

As an older woman believe me that trying to make him jealous is the wrong thing. It doesn't help and only makes you miserable in the end. Just ignore both of them. If she was your real friend she would never have done that to you no matter how much she liked him. Go out and find yourself someone else. You deserve someone better.
Have some fun while your are still able because once you get older you lose that.

Truthfully, revenge isn't always sweet. And its your friends fault too, I mean she knows you have strong feelings for him, she should not be going there. No offense, I mean you wouldn't do that to her right, so she shouldn't do it to you. So personally, everytime I try to get even it blows up in my face, so jealousy really inst the right answer, karma will kick his butt for ya! You deserve so much better, than that. Just walk away, if you can, because he lied to you and hurt you, who says he won't do it again?

Good luck with everything!! :)
