its not that important to me and i try not to make a big deal of it but i sort of really want a boyfriend!!! of course it sounds weird but no one in my grade really has them. if you do people just talk gossip and say "omg i heard they made out once!' and stupid things like that. i really don't want people to talk about me that way. unlike some people, im really self-concious about my reputation and what people think of me. suddenly everything is just going haywire...(dunno if i spelled that rite) theres no way im going to go and ask some guy out...for all they know, they'll think its a joke! id rather have them as regular guy friends than boyfriends but they'd think i was, how you say, a freak, retarded, out of my mind. i only have one guy friend and i like him but not that much. theres only one problem-he doesn't have the deepest voice and he sounds like a girl so of course, thats what people call him. i dont' really know what my problem is because there baisically a bunch of problems twisted together. but if you figure my actual problem out, could you please answer it for me!? that'd be grate

You're right school kids do sometimes like to gossip. Especially in younger grades.
That is why when you get your boyfriend you just don't talk about it with those who will start the gossip.
I don't think boys will think your retarded or anything if you want to be friends. They are no diffrent than girls that way. If you have something in common with a boy, then you just go make friends with him.
As for your friend with the high voice...that will change soon. Boy's go through a time when their voices change.
You know what your actual problem is? You are a young teenager and your body is just undergoing a lot of changes all at once. It can make for a confusing time sometimes. It will eventually even out and get better. Those boy's will catch up with you real soon and you will get a boyfriend.:)

It's natural for you to want a boyfriend. I know I felt that way for a long time, it was like my life was over because I didn't have a bf. But eventually I realized there are more important things in life, like giving money to the poor. Still, it's totally normal for you to want one. I don't reccommend dating your friends, but that is my personal opinion. Personally, my guy friends are more like my brothers and I'm completely disgusted by the thought of dating them. But it's different for everyone. About that one that you like, you shouldn't worry about what others think. So he has a high voice. So people call him a girl. None of that should matter. Besides, in a couple of years, he will probably have a very sexy voice. You're not a freak if you don't date; it just makes you independent, and that's a GOOD thing. You'll go out on dates when you're ready, which may be next week or might not be until you're in college. Whatever you do, don't rush things--just sit back and enjoy life.
