I want to start designing my own tshirts- and I'm not talking about iron ons and stuff like that. I'm talking about like, cute, haute-couture sort of stuff- orginal, like plain tshirts spruced up so much that they look completely different. Can someone help me or give me a site with ideas? I'm not a bad sewer.
Additional info, added Thursday March 31 2005, 9:38 pm: I'm not looking for inspirational sites, I'd like maybe some DIY sites [I have some magazine articles with DIY already] or tips and stuff. Thanks.. Want to answer more questions in the Miscellaneous category? Also, there are loads of sites with sewing tips and t-shirt reconstruction tutorials. If you go on livejournal (if you're a member there) and search tshirt surgery, diy, diy tutorials, etc... in the intrests box there's a bunch of communites you can join and loads of people willing to help/looking for help.
If you're not a member of Livejournal you won't be able to get in to half the communites cause most of 'em are for members only so if you're not leave me something in my inbox and I'll see if I can get you a list of sites :)

BeautifulMadness answered Friday April 1 2005, 12:18 pm: Hiya,
I design a lot of my own tshirts, and while they don't look drastically different once I've finished, they do look better! I'll often cut off the collar if it's high and put a new or better hem on it, or cut full length sleeves to three-quarter's. You can also cut the neckline right down to just below your shoulder on one side, and then wear a vest underneath the top.
What I tend to do a lot is get some fabric paint or fabric pens and write slogans or quotes on there (such as, 'don't judge a girl by her tshirt', or 'if you can read this you're standing too close!'). If you wanna do this, stretch the tshirt out a little over the end of an ironing board or a big book to keep it steady and tight.
Oooh, and another thing is cutting slits up the sleeves and then making little holes either side of the slit and lacing them up with ribbon. That usually looks kinda cool.
Good luck!
Blessed Be,
