MSN Messenger emoticons

Question Posted Wednesday March 23 2005, 5:31 pm

I use MSN Messenger everyday and usually have no problems with it. Yesterday I was using it as normal when suddenly I was unable to view the emoticons. I can send them and other people can see them on their computers but I can't see them, only the code that you use to type them. Is there any way I can fix this problem?

Additional info, added Wednesday March 23 2005, 5:36 pm:
I have tried restarting my computer, signing out then back in again and closing the conversation windows then reopening them. I looked on MSN Messenger help but there wasn't anything about this problem..

you need to go to tools, then options, then messages, then the check box next to .. show emotions. hope this helps! xoxo BLONDE911

Most IM clients have an option/setting/preference/what-have-you to allow you to turn on and off graphical emoticons. I don't use MSN Messenger, so I can't tell you to click on this, then that, but I'm guessing it'll be where the other program settings are.

That happens to me on AIM sometimes...Try Copying the emotion and pasting it in your window if you can see it then exit out of that window and you might be able to see the emotions next time you type them...Or Maybe Try Restarting your computer!! Hope I helped!
