Love at First Sight?

Question Posted Sunday March 20 2005, 10:44 pm

I really like this guy let's call him Joe and 2 of my friends also like him and it gets crazier than that. The first time I saw Joe the room seemed to melt away, like him and I were the only ones in the room. Then it happened again a couple months later. I'm so confused because I just started liking him recently! What do you think is happening to me? And should I tell my friends? Thanks! I appreciate it!

Hi,
I'd say that if two of your friends like Joe as well, it's probably just lust! Love can be a pretty confusing thing but I really do believe you don't love someone until you really know them - part of love is looking past the imperfections to find perfection (to say it cheesily :P) and how can you love someone who you don't know their imperfections? However, you could easily grow to love this Joe guy, so give it a go!! Talk to your friends about it - just say, 'hey, Joe sounds/looks like a pretty cool guy, don't you think?'. If they say stuff like, 'yeah, he's so fit!' and you agree, then you know it's lust. But don't give up because of that - loads of people fall in love through starting with lust! Just be careful and make sure that you love HIM and not his ass or whatever :P
It could be kinda complicated if your friends like him, but if you and Joe went out and they are good friends, they should be fine with it, support you and be happy for you. Talking to them will also help you to see how seriously they feel about him and whether or not you think it would REALLY hurt them (not just make them a little jealous or disappointed) if you and Joe went out sometime in the future.
Good luck!!
Blessed Be,
Rach xxx
P.S. Sorry it took me so long to reply, I've been away all weekend! xxx
