1. because its cheap
and
2. because it was cheap, and many stresed japs ate it to help them out.
Although that was good at the time, a disease was found in some rice field because of the many attacks on japan such as the nukes. This caused many japs to die. But the japs got better after a while. [ shake's advice column | Ask shake A Question ]
Well since our U.S went in and forced them to disarm their armies, we helped them rebuild their economy. Japan was near non-esistence and many people had diseases of cancer from the atomic bomb we dropped.
