cold

Question Posted Wednesday March 2 2005, 9:15 pm

I have a cold where I have to blow my stuffy nose like every minute. Now it's all red and it hurts under my nose. My mom doesn't even care I'm sick and suffering so what should I put to heal the sore? Or maybe it won't matter because I would just wipe it off. :-/ I have to walk a block to the bus stop in the freezing cold so now matter what I'm not really getting a chance to heal this cold. What do I put on the redness? And what are some tips to get over this cold faster? Thanks

Well, getting over the cold takes a while, but you need to talk your mom into getting you Day quil, and Ny Quil medicines. It makes the symptoms go away. And your nose is sore because you're probably using a paper towel, or regular toilet paper, you should use the 'Kleenex' lotion in the tissue brand, its very soft and doesn't hurt. Make sure that when you walk, you have a coat on when its cold and if you have to run, start walking earlier and don't run.

to heal the redness, put a lot of cream on it when your not in public, use cover up in public to hide the redness. and to get over the cold faster, theres this thing called zicam nose swabs..there supposed to shorten colds..i've used them before..there pretty good =) all zicam products work so i would give them a try..good luck..feel better!! *KaysEe

Lotioned tissues, and also try Nyquil and sleeping on a lot of pillows.

Your mom sounds like a bitch.

Carry around a small thing of vaseline, and a small thing of Vicks Vapo Rub with you.
Right after you blow your nose, put some vaseline on your nose, where it's sore. This will help to moisturize and heal the soreness.
Now, put some of the Vicks Vapo Rub on over the vaseline. Just enough for you to smell the vapors.
Putting on the vapo rub over the vaseline, will keep the vapo rub from burning your already sore nose (trust me, it hurts) But it will also clear your sinuses and help you breath. When you are able to breath, you will be able to get rid of the sickness better, by breathing out all the bad stuff.

It's a pain in the ass, but when your really feeling shitty, it can make you feel a lot better.

You might want to take a day off of school, to just lay around, take care of yourself, drink some liquids, and get your strength up.
