Hi,
Sorry if this is gross.
I have really heavy periods and I know that they might settle down (I've only had four so far, but they have been really bad - I can't walk more than 10 steps without having to rush to the toilet) eventually, but is there anything (other than going to the doctors, something I will only do as a last resort) I can do to make them even a little bit lighter? I dunno, natural remedies, food to avoid, drink less...anything?!
I also seem to have like a really weak bladder or something when I'm on my period and I always need the toilet (like always, and I do 'go' when I go to the toilet). Is there something wrong there? If so (or not) what can I do to make it so it isn't so bad? I've tried drinking less and even drank nothing on one day but it makes no difference.
Thanks!

My periods were awful for the first like 8 or 9 times I ever had one, bad where I had to change a pad like every hour or less than that. I even had one that lasted 15 miserable day! So expect anything for the first year of your period. Sometimes they might be months apart, maybe light or really heavy. If you dont like the nasty feeling you get with a pad, wear tampons (with a high absorbeny) And if you have never wore one there is instructions in the box and just to let you know the higher the absorbency the more it hurts when you pull it out. Try a low absorbency first to see if they hurt you and if they dont go for the jumbo ones I guess.. ]
You periods might lighten up as you get older, but they always will be heavy. Try using a super tampon to make it feel less disgusting. I have heavy periods also, and if its such a problem you need to change your tampon like all the time, go to the doctor. Birth control will be perscribed to try to 'regulate' your period. Besides using a large absorbancy tampon, try drinking lemon water. It helps flush you out and it should make everything feel better. Take your vitamins also especially while on your period.

WATER!!! the drink of the day is water. i would probably relax stay in bed reduce your physical activities.
hope i helped ]
OK, tell your mom. Tell your doctor, make an appointment and go to him/her idkk. That might be a problm bc you are losing alot of blood. USe a tampon and a pad {superlarge} and take medicene.
x0o good luck ]
this is pretty normal lots of girls have to constantly use the restroom, but if yours is really that heavey, talk to your mom or friends about it. maybe they can help! o and dont stop drinking fluids cuz that wont do anything!!
good luck! ]
you need to keep drinking water, its not healthy to go without it, and the period itself has already been created inside you and is just being broken down, so what you drink as its broken down won't have any affect on that. drinking more water during your period is actually better for you because it helps calm your hormones and cramps and water's always a good thing. as for your actual question, i can definitely understand why you'd want to lighten your flow, but the only safe way to get what you want accomplished is to talk to your mom about it, and go to the doctor. sorry, i promise its not that bad! hope i helped! <3 ]
i no some people who period's are like dat. it's alrite. just try not to drink cold things may b it will help because it calms my down a lot. and just drinking more water less juice! ]
There is no natural remedy to make your period flow lighter; the only thing that will help is to go on birth control. Birth control also regulates your period too, and not just preventing your from getting pregnant. This doesn't sound gross at all, it's normal, and I feel so bad, since you have a heavy period. It is normal but you should really talk to a doctor about the whole going to the bathroom thing because that's pretty strange and you could lose blood, since your period is heavy. If you get cramps that really hurt, try taking a nice, warm bath or use a heating pad. I really don't know what foods to avoid and such because that has nothing to do with your period. If you stress to much, this may be the reason. Sweetie, talk to a doctor about this because you shouldn't have to deal with this.
