Question Posted Thursday February 24 2005, 11:56 pm
I just downloaded quicktime 6.5 a few days ago and it's been working fine up until today. The video works fine but the audio is skipping a great deal. I tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it again but it didn't help. Anyone had a similar problem and a way to fix it? Any suggestions would be helpful.
There is one other thing you might want to look into, since it's just the audio that's having a problem. Check to see if there are other things running that play sounds intermittently that might be interfering. For instance, do you have AIM on and set to make noises all the time? If so, try turning AIM off and seeing if that solves the problem.
It's a long shot, I admit. G5's suggestions about RAM or streaming video connection speed/quality are more likely, but I figured I'd throw this one out just in case those ideas didn't turn up results. [ dreamingkat's advice column | Ask dreamingkat A Question ]

But, as one other columnist said, having an Apple helps. [ G5's advice column | Ask G5 A Question ]

GET A NEW COMPUTER.
In fact, if you're getting a new one, get a Mac. Yea, it's wonderful. I love Macs. I'm using one right now... Ahhh the great APPLE...

Download VLC video player (hint: google search)
Or Media Player Classic, but with classic you will need to find some codecs also. [ Anarchilist's advice column | Ask Anarchilist A Question ]
