Hey! Im Roman Catholic...and over half of my friends are Mormon. Just wondering to Mormon people:
1.) Do you believe Mary was a virgin?
2.) Do you think the cross is a bad sign?
3.) Why can't you go out until you are 16?
4.) Why can't you have caffiene(sp?)?
5.) Why can't you do as much things of Sunday just because of church?
Just wondernig! :O) Thanks!
2.) No, we don't think the cross is a bad sign but we don't like to use it as our symbol like others do. We like to glorify his Resurrection and not his Crucifixion.
3.) Because before that age it is said that we still don't know the full consequence of having sex before marriage or we are easily convinced. 16 is a age that we are considered pretty much adults, and responsible. we can drive ourselves, and even though we can date were incouraged to just date in groups in the begining.
4.) Its in the scriptures that we should not drink strong drink and anything harmful to our bodies, caffiene is addictive amd harmful to our bodies. We want our minds and bodies healthy and alert.
5.) It is said in the scripitures, "Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy" Exodus 20:8.
The sabbath day is a day it worship God, attend church, spend time with family, rest, read, listen to up lifting music, (Meaning no rap) visit the sick.
Sunday is not a holiday or a day for sports, or shopping. All that can be done on saturday.
I hope I have helped you better understand some of our standards. Talk to your Mormon friends, ask them for the "For the Strength of Youth" it may help you understand us a bit more.

Cuz, they are supposed to love their bodies, or something like that. The dating until 16 is kind of protective parents have a way to blame it on the church for their strict rules. I don't know much about the Mary thing. They tend to believe more in Joseph Smith than Jesus. At least they put more stress on Smith. And they believe the Sabbath (Sunday) is sacred and should only be used for holy things. [ Drama_Secretary's advice column | Ask Drama_Secretary A Question ]
Sherry answered Tuesday February 22 2005, 9:15 pm: I'm not mormon but I thought I would add in my 2 cents. Okay, one thing about mormons is they believe in 3 or 4 places, which 1 of them you will go to when you die. The first is, well its not called "Hell" its something else. And then theres pergatory which like you sinned but you still did good. And then theres heaven. But what I dont get is, we ALL sin...practically everyday..so wouldent we all be in pergatory? You know? Kinda weird...I prolly messed up the stuff a little but yeah I guess someone can clear it up! [ Sherry's advice column | Ask Sherry A Question ]
