WTF answered Friday February 18 2005, 6:10 pm: ibanez acoustics are pretty cheap, but dont get a First Act or a Squire, the rest are probably equal if you want low prices [ WTF's advice column | Ask WTF A Question ]
an answered Friday February 18 2005, 9:55 am: if you want a cheap guitar enter ebay.com and pick the most suitable one or if virgin megastore is nearby just go and buy a cheap guitar or if there's any garage sale or you could have a garage sale and with both amounts of money buy a guitar.
MFS answered Thursday February 17 2005, 10:18 pm: look at the likes of www.samash.com www.musiciansfriend.com and www.harmony-central.com
Some Fender and Yamaha acoustics might suit your needs. I know Sam Ash really pushed these "Carlos Robelli" guitars, which look cool but are really cheap - I've not ever played one nor seen one up-close... you can probably do a little research on people giving feedback on such guitars (harmony central has user reviews) - for all I know, they could be wonderful - or they could really, really suck ass.
Don't buy too cheap an acoustic guitar, or you'll regret it, because really shitty guitars just really suck to play.
Likewise, don't rule out buying a used guitar - many people take very good care of their instruments and get "upgrades" so they like to sell off their older guitars - very often to people who are just learning. We guitarists like to give our old instruments new and useful homes ;) [ MFS's advice column | Ask MFS A Question ]
