bad ear percing

Question Posted Wednesday February 16 2005, 7:27 pm

last nite i put another peircing in my ears above the one in the lobe so its just 2 pericings and i think i did it wrong. when i touch it its rely tender and it hurts and theres a weird lumpish kinda thing when i press it a little with my index finger in front and thumb in back, and i think this might be because i didnt sterlize anything and they were cheap earings, but i got other pericings profesionaly done like 5 years ago and theres been a little ball circle thing i can feel ever since, is that even normal?well i took my new peicing on the left side out because i did it crooked but i dont know what to do because it seems like my OLD hole hurts more but i dont know why it would..and my other new peircing on the right side hurts a real lot. ive cleaned them out with peroxide so the only earing thats in is an earring in my New hole on the RIght side because i dont wanna take it out because i want to keep the hole! please someone help i dont know whats wrong! i ratehigh!

umm im not an expert but heres wut i think you should do take it out let it heal over then re do it but numb yer ear with an ice cube first an be sure to steralize it...numb your ear so that it dosent hurt at all even if it normaly hurts just a little you need to be able to have complete control on were you do it cuz if you hit a wrong nerve you can have half your face paralised

Don't worry, those "bumps" are normal and they come and go. You sometimes get those bumps if you've slept on the side where your piercing is. This will go away eventually, just don't touch it that much and clean it with rubbing alcohol or ear care products for piercings. Your ear is tender because it's getting used to a new piercing. Since you just pierced your ear last night, you probably shouldn't take your earrings out because the hole will close up. Your ear isn't infected because I used to have the same problem as you; I have 8 piercings myself, soon to be 11, and I usually get a bump near my cartilage. Just keep on cleaning your piercings and just try not to touch them that much. Hope I helped :)

The bumps and everything are completly normal - i have 10 piercings on my ears and did half of them by myself. The little bumps stay but go away after a while and it usually takes a long time but you just have to remember to clean it a lot. And as far as the tenderness goes, thats just because its a new hole in your ear and your ear is feeling a lot of pressure so it becomes soar and thats what creates the bumps. You`ll be fine, just make sure to clean it with ear care products and to be on the extra safe side like what i do since we have self-pirced piercings also use rubbing alcohoul - it really helps. Hope I helped!

- RE: well if it still hurt`s i suggest ice, and dont sleep on it for a while because thats what makes it really soar GL!

u have an infection....the ball thing can get worst (thats the infection) TAKE OUT YOUR EARINGS!! i ve had two infections..it stinks sooo bad..just leave it be for like 3-4 months..yeah i know it seems like a long time..but thats how long it takes pretty much to get rid of the infection...dont pierce your own ears..go to someplace else..like claires, or after thoughts, or walmart even...i hear they also have ear piercing at doctors as well...if the infection doesnt go away (like mine hasnt)..go to a doctor and get medicine or something for it..hope i helped!!

Hey..Just keep your earrings out and see if it gets worse or better..I would get in professional done next time..I do pierce my ears thou..You HAVE and i mean HAVE to make sure you sterilize the things you use, and use a good pair of earrings..If you dont they could get infected just like you might have gotten...Be careful next time, and lemme know if anything else occurs..good luck, best wishes!

Bethany

Well I would atleast take the earring out and clean it, or even buy a new one because it's going to get infected and I dont want it to do that because thats very painful..
