you are anything but "retarded." i think this is just the typical guy likes girl, guy acts weird senario. I think he likes you!!!!!!!!! My one question is, do you like him? Do not feel stupid for what you said, and take it as an oppertunity to get a little flirting in! Or, when you guys start going out, (if) this can be the thing you remember as what "brought you together" Go For It!!!!!!!!

Don't feel dumb. You didn't do anything dumb. He was flirting, sweetie. Flirting... hahah (sorry, I take Sign Language, and the sign for that is so funny!!) Anyway, what he was doing was just messing around, letting you know that he likes you a bit.. I don't think he was trying to play "footsie".. whatever that is (I know what "it is", but realize that you guys are probably a little too old. Maybe not, you didn't say how old you were) You shouldn't feel retarded for saying that he was kicking you. Dude, if that's retarded, then I do retarded things all the time. lol.. Don't feel stupid, you were just drawing attention to what he was doing, letting him know that you realize he's playing with you. Anyway, I don't know if that answers your question.. I wasn't really sure what your question was... Happy Valentines Day!!
