Early Signs Of Pregnancy

Question Posted Wednesday January 26 2005, 10:52 am

I heard that early signs of pregnancy dont occur until after a missed period. Is this true? If not, what signs are there that you might be pregnant in the few weeks before your next period. Thanx

One sign is that you may get morning sickness. That can occur before your missed period. I heard that you find yourself eating more althouh you aren't too far along on pregnancy. Also, you may notice your breast getting sore and big, such as when you get your period. It's hard to tell. I would suggest seeing a doctor for a test or buying one of those test that can detect pregnancy a couple days before your missed period. If I were you, I'd just wait to see if I missed my period first. Good luck

Some of the earlier signs that you may be pregnant unfortunately may be similar to symptoms you get before you have your period (breast tenderness etc.). However, within a couple of days though the growing fetus releases a hormone that can be detected in your urine (that's why pregnancy tests work). If you're very concerned you can get a pregnancy test (you can get them at the dollar store even, or planned parenthood or your local teen clinic) and those are fairly accurate. If its not conclusive then wait till your next period. Nausea and vomiting and other stereotypical signs of pregnancy is person dependent. If you are not pregnant and sexually active, it would be a good idea to start on birth control pill. You can get it from your doctor and if you're afraid your mom might not go for it, tell you OBGYN and he/she can tell your mom that the pill is great for other health things like regulating your cycle.

Hope that helps,
Arun

I'm not sure about that because you can get morning sickness a few days after you had sex. Some of the signs are morning sickness, eating more than you should, gaining weight, a missed period, and other signs like that. Hope I helped :)

Well your stomach may be getting a little bit bigger and your gaining weight. There is this pregnancy test called FirstResponse and you can take it a few days before your missed period. So its faster results! Just be patient and good luck!
