am i overreacting?

Question Posted Thursday January 20 2005, 8:09 pm

so, how do i know when a teacher is hitting on me? i'm 15 year old girl, and i have known this teacher since middle school. when i'm in classes with him, or run into him, he makes comments about how pretty or smart i am, or laughs at really stupid jokes i make. if it was just that, i wouldn't be so bothered by it, but sometimes he touches my knees or sholders and some times stares at me. how ever it could be really innocent and i'm just interperating it the wrong way. he acts like the other guys (all in highschool) who like me. but i've seen him act like this to other people, but they don't feel like i do. another thing is that he's married to another teacher and has several kids. i like his wife, and i would so horrible if some thing happened to thier marriage, so i can't say something and have it turn out to be nothing. i'm very uncomfortable in this situation.

He should not be behaving in that manner. At this stage, I would say you are best ignoring him and making a point to distance yourself from him.
