housebreaking
any tips on how to housebreak a 10m month old pit bull terrier mix without using a crate?!!! i need help please....

Here is a list that I guarentee will work if it doesn't than you send me a letter saying so!!!
1.If you burn a match and then blow it out then shove it up its butt and count to ten it will make it automatically poop
2.You can also buy puppy piddle pads at a store near you (it might not go on them,my dog didn't)
3.You can also rub its nose in it and spank it and say no bad dog then throw it outside in ur back yard and do not let in in for another five to ten minutes
Or you can buy a cat box and try to teach it to go in there but goodluck if you try!

I don't use crates myself. If by housebreaking you mean getting him used to you and your home and your family, etc. you should spend a lot of time with him; walk him, give him baths, play with him. Show him around the house. If you want to potty train him, just put him on the newspaper each time he doesnt use the bathroom in the right place and say loudly and firmly (while pointing to it) "PEE PEE HERE. POOPOO HERE". Repeat it for about 3 times and he should get it. He should learn soon that way.

i think that you should take the dog out after every meal then when it goes you have to congradulate her and give them a treat till the no to go outside to the bathroom trust me on this one i have a puppy and she never went to the bathroom outside so we had to stand out thier for like an hour till they go and then you say good job and give them a treat it always works.<3 alex

Well, whenever my dog used to pee on the carpet, we would hit her on the top of the head with a rolled up newspaper and take her to the door to be let out. We would also make it known that it wasn't acceptable by saying bad girl and things of that nature. Maybe that's not good for the dog, but it always worked for us.

only give them water like 3 times a day, that way they don't graze and stuff. then let them o utside on a schedule. if you get them on a schedule it will make things easier in a future. soon he'll figure out he just needs to stand by the door when he needs to go to the bathroom.

try putting him in the bathroom for the night or whenever he does something bad. They learn as they get older. As long as you punish them by showing them what they did they will learn and their habits will change. hope i helped kelly!

You might be able to paper train them or else everytime they got potty on the floor tap them on the butt so they know not to do it.

well usually when their puppies and they go potty in your house, hopefully on tile floor, they usually(i would think) go to a spot and always go there.. and when you see your dog goes there, try to get him outside before he actually goes.. thats what i did with my dog, he got used to it and whenever he gots to go he goes to the door and we let him out, and no more accidents! =) hope that works for you! those kinds of dogs that you have are adorable =) x0
