Whenever I almost do anything like play tennis, volleyball, cheerleading, piano, etc, I always get nervous, but only when people are watching me. I always play bad at tennis when this one boy is there, but when he's not, I do fine. I know, I know, just block it out. But I try just to focus on what's going on on my court, but it's so hard. Anyone have any tips?

If you mess up, just laugh it off! Try practicing in front of a crowd to get used to a lot of people watching you! Hope I helped :)

Berri answered Friday December 17 2004, 8:40 pm: You never look as bad as you feel. Chances are, you're playing a lot better than you think you are. It's like being a dancer onstage: The audience doesn't notice tiny little screw-ups because they don't know the dance! Only you do! Just keep in mind that they're humans too, and they have the ability to screw something up just as bad as you do. [ Berri's advice column | Ask Berri A Question ]
frenchfries21 answered Friday December 17 2004, 7:27 pm: well it helps me to just laugh when i mess up and then it doesnt seem as bad if your laughing with them, when everyone else realizes your laughing too they think nothing of it. and it doesnt matter, no one is gonna think more or less or you depending on how you play sports. just play with full confidence.
hope this helped ya

MyPainIsReal answered Friday December 17 2004, 6:38 pm: Well I know trying to pretend they aren't there is hard. If you can't do that then try and get some friends to play with you and such. So you get used to having people around and watching you. If you play all of these things you just enjoy them right? Just do it for the fun and do your best and don't worry about the other people. The only one you should be trying to impress is yourself. If it helps, before you play one of these sports, take a few deep breaths and get yourself ready and consentrated. Do some stretches (i know that sounds dumb) as you are taking your deep breaths so your mind gets put at an ease. :) [ MyPainIsReal's advice column | Ask MyPainIsReal A Question ]

Pretend they aren't even there! Just enjoy what you are doing. Have fun! Who are you trying to impress? :) Love what you are doing in front of them and you will be fine. How can you live your life if nobody is watching? :)
Hope I helped :)
