The stitches are usually irritating. But for the discharge, you might want to check into your doctor about that.

Even though I'm a teenage girl and I've never given birth before and I don't plan on doing so ever, I'd say its normal. Your body is healing, and thats bound to happen, and I hear stitches make some people itch, I'm not sure. About the goopy discharge...That may be normal as well, your body may be dispelling excess fluid or maybe even placenta from the child, though I'm not an expert in this, thats what I think, but your best bet is to go to a doctor, or someone you know who has haad a child, to see if the smae thing happened to them for reassurance. And by the way, I don't think your question is gross, I've heard WAY worse.

P.S. Did you have a girl or a boy? Just curious.

Did you tell the doctor that your discharge is goopy? It is probably normal, but you can just call him and ask him. If you are still worried, maybe you can a different doctor look at it. Itching usually happens when you are healing, but constant redness, puffiness, or pus are a different thing.

If I knew more, I would tell you, but I don't. The best thing I can say it to check with another doctor, and to ask other women who gave birth if they had the same problem/s.

I am not 100% sure on this however I will try to give you an Honest answer. I understand why it would itch. You have pieces of string or whatever it is now a days inside you and your body is like wtf mate. Get it out. SO naturally it is going to itch. The Doctor said it is normal so I would trust his decision on the matter. With the "goopy" discharge. You gave birth 5 weeks ago. It's going to be odd down there. Its normal to have that. You just have to deal with it. In time the stiches will come out and the "goop" will stop. Just tough it out and things will be right in the world once again!

I hope I helped!
