my friend is being bullied

ok i feel dumb asking for advice but oh well.
my friend is in 7th grade and she's not tht pretty and she is being made fun of and i want to try to help but she says she dont want me to ge hurt..
so i asked her to get the names of the people tht were bullying her, but she wont i dont know what to do and i cant just stand asside and watch her get hurt and if we tell an adult, thn things would go really bad and she might get beat up. what should i do?

Ok don't feel dumb...it's ok to need help. She probably won't tell you who is saying things about her because she doesn't want you to get in the middle of it. If you really want to help her sit her down and tell her that her "life" is important to you and you really want to help.
