Ska Music

Question Posted Monday November 22 2004, 12:06 pm

I've recently become very much in love with Five Iron Frenzy and think that ska music on the whole is the greatest type of music ever. I've been meaning to look around for other great ska bands, but I don't know where to look! Does anyone know of any good ones that have cds I could check out?

Theres tons of good ska bands out there. Theres the Mad Caddies, Reel Big Fish, Less than Jake, Rx Bandits, Catch 22, Operation Ivy, Long Shot Hero, Big D and the Kidstable...and tons of others I cant think of off of the top of my head...but they out there. Try using purevolume.com or search engines like google to find some more.

WTF answered Monday November 22 2004, 4:08 pm:
youre in luck, i love ska

check out Catch 22, especially their first album, Keasbey Nights. Tomas Kalnoky wrote all the songs, and hes brilliant, so if you like that, check out Streetlight Manifesto, and B.O.T.A.R.

if you dont really like Catch 22, then check out Mustard Plug, The Aquabats, Skatalites, Operation Ivy, or Suicide Machines.

Less Than Jake is a must too, especially their old stuff

Oh yea, and Bob Marely isnt Ska, hes Reggae, but still good.

Look at who they toured/tour/will tour with. That's how i find a lot of my music. I look at other artists that open for them or that are related to them through concerts!

Bob Marley. His music is all different cause it changed through the ages but some of his music is ska.
