~*Annie*~ answered Sunday October 31 2004, 1:47 pm: No need to worry, I have never had a job, but let me tell you about my sister's experience: She used to work at Subway, wrapping sandwiches. Nothing could go wrong, right? Wrong. She accidentally wrapped up a plastic knife INSIDE a sub sandwich and gave it to a customer. Thank goodness the customer checked the sandwich before taking a bite, cutting her tongue, and sueing my sister (Don't worry, my sister has vowed to never again work a a food place). Okay, so everyone is going to be nervous on their first job, and one tip is to relax, be excited that you are on your way to becoming a true adult. You are entering the Real World, and that is a little nerve-wracking. But everything will be alright, just be alert about everything you do, and smile and be nice to everyone you meet. If you are acquainted with the manager, you can tell him/her that you are a little nervous about your very first job. He / she will understand, possibly may even be pleased that you are so committed to a job and want to exceed in it. Good luck! :) [ ~*Annie*~'s advice column | Ask ~*Annie*~ A Question ]
