i dont have my lip peirced, but some people in my school have them done and i dont really see any infection or bother, so i think its ok, but i dont think there are any major veins, cuz then it would be too risky and they would all stop peircing lips! hope i helped!

You won't have any problems if you go to a licensed piercer. S/he knows where the nerves/veins/etc are and where it's safe to pierce.

Hey =)

I don't have my labret pierced, but for as many others as I have, I've considered it. I asked my piercer about a side lip ring and he said that all lip percings are safe, just don't touch them and be sure to clean them properly. A friend of mine had his done and he liked it, but he said the little post was kind of annoying, so he changed it to a hoop. I guess that's a personal preference though. Good luck!

Em

It doesn't hurt much at all, there are no major veins or nerves there. Now, when I pierced the side of my nose, half my face went numb for two weeks because they hit a nerve, but your labret has really no risks involved at all. Do it, and have fun!

hey, i got my labrette pierced when i was 15 and i didnt think it hurt, i have my tragus (the small bony bit in your ear)pierced and that was much worse, i dont think there are any veins you have to worry about, but i took mine out 3 years later as the back of the stud was rubbing off my gum and wearing it away! the hole doesnt go away either i still have the scar taking it out 2 years later, but its just small. to start off with you can feel the back of it but it isnt sore or anything then after a while you totally forget about it until you have to take it out and it feels naked without it! i was happy with it but im glad i have taken it out now! hope this helps :)
