Question Posted Wednesday August 11 2004, 10:39 pm
Dear Jordan,
I'm in the sixth grade and I weigh like 100 pounds! My stomach is huge and I'm so self-concious (spelling?)! I feel like guys don't like me because I'm fat! And I feel like all the pretty, skinny girls are always judging me! I'm trying to do a sport and excersize but I can't loose the weight. Please, give me advice and help me through this hard time!
Sincerely,
Self-concious & Unhappy

i'm sorry you're unhappy about your weight. weighing 100 pounds in sixth grade is normal hon. haha. for real, i mean, there may be skinnier girls, and skinnier guys, but that doesn't matter. i mean, if you're trying to exercise and eat right and all that, that's great! keep on working hard! but, don't let it get you down! Exercise actually builds something that makes you happy, so if you're really working hard, and keep a good, bright attitude towards everything, it'll work out pretty good! I'll pray for you and remember that there are certainly other reasons people can respect you and admire you than just a thin body. Plus, you're only in sixth grade, you're young, you've got the rest of your life to make friends and maintain the happiness that is just bursting inside of you. Don't be afraid to meet new people and remember this... Smiling is the first thing people notice, so let them know you're happy! :D
