Stopping a bad habit is never easy, but it's possible. There are several different ways to stop biting your nails, and I will tell you a few different methods.

1. Put band-aids over your nails, and put on fresh ones every few days. After a few weeks, take them off and notice how much better your nails look. Put some back on if you start biting your nails again.

2. I see that the previous advisers suggested that you use nail polish because the taste will discourage you from biting your nails. There is also a solution called a nibble inhibitor. It has a bad-tasting chemical in it that will make you not want to bite your nails. You can apply it to your nails several times a day and have some with you at all times.

3. It's good to keep your nails covered. You can do this by wearing nail polish, fake nails, or gloves.

4. Pick one nail that you will promise yourself not to bite. After a few days, pick another and then another. The ones you promise yourself not to bite will look better and be a motivation.

5. Find some things you can do instead of nail biting. For example, you can do a hobby such as knitting, crocheting, decorating your nails, or doing clay. You can find another habit that takes the place of biting your nails, such as drumming your fingers or even just putting your hands in your pocket.

I hope I was able to help! I know it seems hard, but remember that probably everyone will have some sort of bad habit in their lifetime. But you can stop. Someday, you'll see that the effort is worth it, because your nails will look so much better after you have stopped biting them.

It's really all in your head so every time you're about to do it, tell yourself not to.
Always keep your nails clipped, then there won't be anything to bite.
If you're a girl, wearing nail polish helps. It doesn't taste good at all.

Biting your nails can cause a lot of problems. Problems to your nails, teeth, even your gums. I'm pretty sure that you've noticed that you do this in public like maybe in school, and that's not socially acceptable so you know you need to stop.

What I would do is look at pictures of pretty nails for motivation. Also remembering that you can cause health problems because you're transferring bacteria from your nails to your mouth.
You can put band aids around your nails while you're at home.
Also you could try to find another way to keep your hands busy. You can carry a rubber band or something else that will keep your hands busy.
And keep your mouth busy too. Try gum, mints, candy, ect.
You can get your nails professionally done. Like acrylic nails so you can't bite them off.

If you seriously can't stop after all this, then you should see a doctor.
