Hi. I noticed your married so you could probably help me more...im 17 and my steady boyfriend for 4 years asked me to marry him. im a strict catholic but i love him and want to marry him. my parents dont approve although his family does. i love him and i am ready for this. how can i convince my parents?

Actually, i've never been married before. But i can tell you this...you may feel like you love him enough to marry him. But stay engaged for a couple of years. See what it feels like once you've started to live with him. Marriage may seem like a bonding experience but it can be bad too. Things change when you start to live with someone. I was with this guy for 8 months, then we beoke up. 3 years later we got back together. I swore that i couldnt wait to be his wife. It sounded so wonderful. Then i lived with him for 4 months and i am SOOO glad i did not marry him. He ended up being a slob, insensitve and not a very cool person to live with. So dont throw away the idea of getting married, but give it time..please.
