Question Posted Monday July 12 2004, 8:55 am

Hey..
I was wondering if anyone has any advice on how to stay fit and in shape. I have been lifting weights running swimming biking everyday..I would like to lose a few pounds even though for my age I am pretty skinny..It would just make me feel better about myself. I know not to overwork myself or anything like that..and I have been trying to eat healthier. Thanks..I appreciate it!

You seem to be doing a good job so far. Just realize that losing weight takes a while, it does not happen instantly. Also, keep in mind that muscle weighs more than fat, so if you are building up muscle while doing exersize, you may not lose weight, but you will be toned and healthy.

Eating healthy is extremely important. Make sure you eat enough food so that you have the energy to keep up your daily workour routine. Carbohydrates are a great sourse of stored energy. (Nevermind what Dr. Atkins says.) One important thing about eating- cut out in-between meal snacks. Only eat when you are hungry.

try making it fun!!! put on music and dance around, invite friends to go on walks and things like that. make sure to cut carbs and cals, but don't get too obsessed with dieting.
