MFS answered Monday July 5 2004, 8:50 pm: Has your brother said anything or dropped any hints? Of course, being an older brother, he might intentionally NOT say anything, if you know what I mean ;) Either way, he might be a good place to start.
It might be worth your while to try to "casually" ask the guy out. Try the "Hey, you doing anything Friday night?" approach. That way, he won't feel intimidated with you asking, and you get to see his reaction. Rejection isn't always a bad thing in this either - if he's quick to give an excuse, well, yeah that's bad, but if he's apologetic and explains why he can't do anything, that's a sign that perhaps he'd like to do something.
There are little tricks, to... when talking to him when he's over, try violating his personal space a bit - just enough to be noticed by him but not enough to be obvious to anyone else... if he doesn't seem to mind, well, that's a huge clue (if he does seem to mind, that's not always a negative sign either - he just might be shy).
At worst, you could always just grab the guy by his ears, lick his forehead, and proclaim "I WANT YOU NOW." (ok, maybe not, but you never know... ;) )
Most importantly, remember that flirting is an artform - it is best when subtle. Overplanning will make it feel uncomfortable, whereas no planning will make it feel disjointed.
Good luck! [ MFS's advice column | Ask MFS A Question ]
