I have a really good mate, but recently he's been really depressed. He's told one of our other friends what's up with him, and he tried to tell me as we were walking home but he just burst into tears and didn't have a chance to say. I'm really worried about him, and need him to tell me what's up with him in order to help him. What should I do? I don't want to upset him anymore but I don't know if he'll actually tell me, or what to do if it's something really bad. HELP!!

If that person refuses to, tell her he was trying to tell you but was so upset he couldn't do anything but cry, and if they don't say anything and your friend does something bad they are gonna regret it and wish that they told you. Good Luck! :)

You can usually find them in the front of the phone book. I'm not sure where you live but most places have them.
He may not want to tell you because it is too traumatic. Tell him you are there if he wants to talk, but don't pressure him. Try to get him to talk to someone - a school counselor, nurse or doctor, or help line. [ notnormal's advice column | Ask notnormal A Question ]
