koshii answered Tuesday March 23 2004, 4:35 pm: Your hormones wage absolute hell on your body's rhythmic processes and your skin breaks out in acne, and then gets better; your throat gets sore, you get sad and weepy or irritated, then you sleep a lot for about three days, you get nauseous for two days and can't eat anything, you have extreme desires for salt and sugary foods, you might get a fever, then if you're lucky, you get horrible cramps that feel like you've been hit by a truck and you spend three days sobbing in bed trying not to move and set it off. The pain comes in waves of about 40 seconds of pain to 4 seconds of rest.
sweetmusic answered Monday March 22 2004, 5:08 pm: it means you're shedding your uterine lining. Gross huh? Well it means technically you are able to have a baby (though obviously that would be really hard if you're really young, which i'm guessing you are). After the lining of your uterus sheds it grows back again, and there's a period of . . .i think a few days to a week, where you can get pregnant. then you get your period again. (the egg comes out with your period, its very very small).
you can probably find better information by searching google or asking an adult you trust. its completely natural of course, dont worry about it :) [ sweetmusic's advice column | Ask sweetmusic A Question ]
Crystal_0408 answered Sunday March 21 2004, 9:10 pm: Okay, since im 14 and i've had many periods since 12, its easy to say that you shouldnt be worried about it. A period is something natural, every gurl gets it, it usually last about 3 days- 1 week, depending on your body cycle, the period happens every month. All you have to do it buy some pads or tampons, and know how to wear them. Its just blood, and by your period stricking, it just means your body is developing. Nothing harmful. Just make sure you know when you start, record it and that way you know or should know about the time you will start the next month.
Hope this helps. [ Crystal_0408's advice column | Ask Crystal_0408 A Question ]
