If you don't do something soon, her life is going to be completely ruined even though I think that it might be too late. She also needs to be aware that having sex with her step brother is illegal because he is 18. Her brother is going to jail if she continues to do this. If you are truly a good friend, you would get her some help. [ sp4rklingr4in's advice column | Ask sp4rklingr4in A Question ]
endilwen answered Friday March 12 2004, 3:00 am: Your friend is TWELVE?! Well, the situation is (in my opinion) WAY out of hand here. She obviously isn't ready for this sort of thing and yet she's going out and doing it anyway. Does she know that abortions can damage you for your entire life and prevent you from having babies in the future? She doesn't know what love is by the sounds of it. When she brings it up around you, just say you don't want to be a part of it. Be honest with her. If she's a true friend she'll listen to what you'll have to say. notnormal answered Thursday March 11 2004, 11:56 pm: She has problems. She started being sexually active way too early, and if her parents actually did say they would "sign something" they are partly to blaim. Between 12 and 16 is 4 years. If he is 18 now, he will be 22 then. It is very unlikely that they will be together then, because a lot of changes happen in 4 years when you are that age.
I don't know what you can say to her. She needs to develope some healthy interests, and self esteem, but I don't think you will be able to change her. You could invite her to do things with you that don't involve boys, men, or sex, but she may not be interested.
PepeLePew answered Thursday March 11 2004, 9:45 pm: Oh no...almost everyone at my middle school just thinks of sex...and i sure that most of them already had sex. As a sixed grader said last year "I had half-sex"...but really, there is NO such thing.
BUT ANYWHO...
Your friend isn't very well educated on this.
"then they wanted to be together so they had sex"
You mean her step brother and she had sex?
Anyway, she can't "love" him. She is too young and especially to understand "love." And he is 18...i bet he dosen't care about her, and can throw / push her away whenever he feels like it. If she coontinues, then she is just going to screw up her life and die of AIDs.
"parents are signing something so they can move into an apartment together"
Her parents are signing a thing so that the 18 year old and they can have a place to live at when they are older? :-/ well looks at the people who are teaching her...how smart.
Anyway, he can't be her husband for they haven't married yet, and i don't think he wants to. he might be cheating on her since of the different schools, etc. he just wants to show off or just use her.
And she cann't have an abortion every time she gets pregnant...she could die, etc.
^
things you can tell her. just more kid-friendly.
Logic-Man answered Thursday March 11 2004, 5:29 pm: You need tell her how horribly wrong she is. It seems now she really needs a friend to explain what she is doing is horrible, and why. But you alone are not the one who can stop this, you need to tell and get aid from a guidance counsellor, teacher, her parents firstly, or etc.. Your next action on this could be pivotal. You have an obligation to help her and put a stop to this. [ Logic-Man's advice column | Ask Logic-Man A Question ]
