I wasnt planning on suing a pick, but why would you say to not use one?? whats wrong with it?

Well, I don't have anything against picks. A lot of guitarists say that you're not a real guitarist if you use a pick, but I don't see any real flaws. Try using a pick and fingerpicking to see which one works for you.
