Question Posted Wednesday December 10 2003, 12:30 pm
Okay, I'm going on eight years of playing the clarinet, and I still have the same clarinet. I've heard that Buffet clarinets are really good, and I haven't really heard much of any other brands. Does anyone know a really good brand that's fairly inexpensive, as I'm on a limited budget? I don't want to ask the people at work (I work in a music store) because they're most likely to want a profit from it, and will tell me that anything is good. I thoroughly despise ANYTHING Yamaha, as they mass produce everything that they make and don't take as much time and care with any of it, as far as I can tell. Any suggestions?

I have quite a few friends with Selmers and none of theirs have cracked in the time they've had them, and so I think I just may have gotten a bad make. [ Turc's advice column | Ask Turc A Question ]

They may not be selling those though. So I would suggest going to your nearest music store, "music time". And ask for their best brand name.
