buy a spanish/english dictionary!!

or since comp. programs suck for learning other languages, go to www.freetranslations.com and type in what you want to learn how to say then change it to english to spanish (or whatever language you want basically) and it'll tell you! you can figure out how to pronounce it on your own... or you can have a human translation (you hafta pay for that though!!)

Go to Spain and live there. Or Mexico. Or Argentina, Bolivia, Belize, Honduras, Guatamala, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Venezuela, Colombia, Chile, Peru, Ecuador, Panama, Cuba, Nicaragua, Paraguay, or Uruguay.

Most of the software I've used for languages suck. None of them really get the job done well. It just doesn't work. You need to actively speak the language with people as well as learn vocabulary and grammar. And learning about the customs of the people who speak the language also helps immensely.

I have looked 3 different programs for Spanish, one for Latin, and one for Chinese. They were all sub-par. Sure, they'll help, but you won't really learn the language.

The Rosetta Stone line of software might be OK. From what I've seen, it's good for basic stuff--vocabulary, prepositions, etc.

I just heard today about an old (out of print) package called "Who Is Oscar Lake?" It sounded interesting because of its premise--you're put in a jail cell in a foreign country and you have to learn the language to get out of jail.
