Draak answered Monday October 20 2003, 7:17 am: Next time, instead of using toothpicks, use popsicle sticks. They are less likely to fall apart when you glue them and they won't blow apart if you use a hairdryer to speed the drying process. Also, avoid waiting until the last minute, that way if you have problems you can work around them.
Wipe some of the glue off the toothpicks, that way they will dry faster or try using super glue or a hot glue gun instead of Elmer's glue. [ Draak's advice column | Ask Draak A Question ]

Don't use a hairdryer, because if your glue's not that far along, it could knock the toothpicks out of place. Don't bake it. Don't set it on fire. Don't throw it out a window.
