How do i set limits on lending someone money? My ex-boyfriend and best friend is a great guy (wonderful) but he borrows money frequently. He will borrow money weekly if he thinks I have any cash.
He borrows large and small amounts; he simply asks for whatever amount he thinks (or discovers) I have and that he needs. I often forget all the 10 20 30 dollar loans so sometimes he pays money back and sometimes he does not. He currently owes me over a thousand.
He got really angry when I once asked him to sign a repayment agreement, so thats not an option. He expresses frustration if I try to give him a check rather than cash. I always try to avoid talking about money with him, but if i do or if he knows I have purchased any item for more than twenty bucks, he will comment that I must be doing okay financially and can he borrow money?
I did borrow money from him once about five years ago when I was unemployed and ill; he said it was a gift, but I decided we could take it off what he owed me from a year earlier. (this infuriated him- he wanted it to be a gift.)
I want to maintain our friendship because i enjoy his companionship. However, last week i lent him another five hundred and he wanted even more... it is too stressful. I told him I dont want to loan him anymore money. Today he called for another hundred.
I am a single mom with three college age kids. My 17 year old is still at home, and I spend more on my friend than i do on my daughter... this borrowing has got to stop. how can i set limits?? (link)

So last year I had my first serious boyfriend, I fell head over hills, lost my virginity, and after a year I realized he wasn't the guy for me and I had made a mistake. I was forced into a lot of things with him. Not physically as much as mentally. He'd guilt trip me, get angry and ignore me, fight with me, say I didn't love him if I didn't do things with him. One time at his friends house he locked me in the bathroom with him until I did stuff with him. I started crying so he let me out but refused to talk to me the rest of the night. So, I broke up with him a few months ago. I recently started dating this guy, he's been my best friend since eighth grade. I'm a junior he's a senior. I really like him and he respects me and treats me right. He doesn't force me into doing things I don't wanna do.
If I feel uncomfortable he won't make me do things.
So anyway. I have been dating him since March we have done somethings but not sex. Well recently I've been thinking about maybe in the distant future having sex with him. I thought about it for a while. I started crying, I feel so traumatized I feel like if I have sex he's going to end up like my ex. I feel afraid to do it again, I'm scared that things will end badly and that I'll end up regretting it because things were so terrible, I felt obligated and guilty in my last relationship. My boyfriend says I shouldn't feel like I have to do anything I don't want to. But, I don't know, why do I feel so traumatized from this? Is this normal? Like I feel so depressed about it, I feel traumatized and I don't want to effect what happened in my last relationship to effect what happens in my new one. I really like him and I don't know what I should do really, what should I do? Should I tell him? Is there anyway I can get rid of this feeling? (link)

Hi! I am going on a road trip cross country this summer with my mom. I'm very excited except for one problem I have been dealing with for about 7 years: I can't pee anywhere but my home bathrooms. The last roadtrip I took, I ended up in the hospital 3 nights in a row with 2 temporary catheters and 1 permanent one I had to have for a week (it was extremely painful, especially since I still had to drive 8 more hors home.) I was wondering if anybody had any advice on what I can do to pee in a public bathroom? Is there some medication I can take or some mental trick?? Thanks so much!! (link)

I've been dating the same guy for about 3 months now without any problems. Before him i hadn't dated anyone i just had a few crushes one of them being a country boy that i thought i could never be with he wasn't popular i just didn't grow up in the country i wore what some would call a more "punk" look but not to an extreme. I always pictured me and him getting together and me getting to live on a farm like i had dreamed well he moved out when we were Juniors and lives only a half an hour away last year for prom i saw him because he was in my group and have seen him one other time in his truck so now every-time i am in town i seem to be looking into every truck that looks similar im not sure why im looking for him when i have and love my boyfriend.
I have also been having dreams last night i had a dream where i saw him at my graduation party and somehow everyone could tell that i liked him and my boyfriend left me and the guy confessed his love to me.
Does this mean anything or is it just a crush. I have no plans on leaving my current boyfriend i am just wondering what all this means if it even means anything. (link)

My friend was in rehab for a few months and I was not allowed to have any contact with her. So, in that tine frame, I kind of have a new best friend. I got really close to this one girl, and she's probably a better bestie then theo ther ever was. My old bff was secretive, a liar, and ha horrible mood swings. She had a lot of great qualities too, but I'm just worried if anything will be remotely the same. She was my best friend, but I've kind of moved on. I still will befriends with her but not really bffs.. I'm also one of her only friends. She has like two others besides me. How do I handle this? Should I stick with her even though I don't really want to? (link)

you could try finding some people who understand her better. You could tell her (gently) that while she was away you kind of moved on. If she gets mad at you for it she's not the kind of friend you want anyway.

my boyfriend was always way into me more then i was him, we broke up at a party because he wouldnt give me space like two months ago.. i know dumb. anyways we've been trying to work it out, and now i'm the one whose more in love with him, and now he only sees us as friends.. like he says all the feelings he use to have for me just arent as strong anymore. but we went to the beach on wednesday and he said we'll probabbly get back together.. and now friday night he was getting so annoyed at me for no reason. what made me want to be with him more and relize how much i loved him was not seeing him as much.. should i do that back? Don't worry. Tell him how you feel. Tell him your confused and that you like him more then friends and if it takes him a while to realize he feels the same way, just be patient. He will come to his senses sooner or later and if he doesn't well maybe it's time to move on, find someone who feels the same way for you as you do for him.

i feel so irritated and angry.. whenever i see my mom i only have to look at her and i feel imediatley irritated and it starts me, sometimes i only have to speak to her on the phone and my mood just flips. im very sharp and short tempered with people especially those close to me. ive been feeling this way since sept 09. some people would call it irratable depression. it's probably hormones or your body might be trying to tell you something. just tell people whats going on and it should eventully pass.

Whenever I approach my cat she looks up at me and stretches out one of her paws until I start petting her. Almost as she is reaching out to me, Why does she do this? (link)

probably because she wants more affection from you. if you have only had her for a little while she probably wants to get to know you.

i used to smoke weed every day for months, but got a DUI for it so i quit/gave it up.
i have not smoked for about 11 days and have been drinking LOTS of water!
i was just curious on peoples opinions as to how long it would take for me to be clean??
i am 18 years old. i weigh 90 lbs and am 5'0.
