I have a major problem, My sims 3 launcher won't work. I click on it, with the CD in and with it out. It won't open it says " Sims 3 launcher has stopped working" I don't know what to do the help part of the sims3 website doesn't do anything. What can I do. (link)
Try to uninstall and reinstall it, and restart your computer in between. Works for me with any program that isn't working properly.

what happens when you click on cached link (link)
When you're Googling something, the list of search results often have a "cached" option. When you click it, it brings you to the same page as normal, but whichever search terms you typed into Google originally are highlighted in various colors. This is a great tool if you are searching for a name or something random in a long list on the website, since the page will highlight what you're looking for and make it faster to retrieve your info. Try it and see!

Hope that helps!

I'm starting school in august and just want something easy to use with good battery life that is durable. All computers seem the same to me!! Just have to write papers and use the internet basically... And store music and pictures (link)
I'd highly suggest a MacBook Pro. It's lighter (portable for classes), is easy to use and intuitive to learn how to use, as well as durable. Not to mention the customer service is remarkable; my freshman year into college I bought a MacBook Pro and three years later it randomly kept malfunctioning and died. The people at Apple helped me recover everything on my computer and sent me a brand new laptop...for free.

Immunity to viruses is a big plus ...when I called Apple about the malfunctioning, I told them I had downloaded plenty of Illegal music and asked if it could be a virus, they laughed and said no...and obviously it wasn't since they sent me a new one)

It also depends on your major. Business majors were told to buy PCs, whereas the Art majors were told to get Macs because of the amazing graphics ability. BUT... Macs can turn into PCs using a program called Bootcamp...it's amazing.

When it comes to price, you pay for what you get. None of my friends who had PCs had the same computer all throughout college. The MacBook Pro I'm on now is still running perfectly...even after my housemate spilled an entire beer all over it a few months ago!

Also, order your computer--whichever you end up getting--through the school. You'll great a great educational discount, and some universities, if you buy it through them, will load up Word, Powerpoint, and other programs for you so it's all ready to go.
*Be sure to buy the Applecare protection plan though! For about 100$ it's totally worth it.

Good luck!

I have a JPEG files its contains only text on it but now I want to correct some text on it & I also want to put some pix in it. so I want to Convert it in rtf. File format. is this possible? but I want the best quality after I convert it.
(link)
JPEGs are only really good for photos...as in digital camera pictures.

I prefer Photoshop, but if you don't have that program, and all you need on the document are pictures and some photos, you could always try Microsoft Word. When you open the pictures you wish to use, be sure to hit the option "wrap text" so you have flexibility with where the photo is.

I'm not sure what you're trying to achieve, or why you need an rtf., but the best, most high quality format is PDF (Portable Document Format) so if you see that option while saving in Paint, Photoshop (also known as a Photoshop PDF), etc. choose that!

Hope that helps.

I want to hack into my dads facebook. I have never met him before, he walked out on me when i was a baby, but his profile is private and he doesnt want to talk to me, but i want to see his profile. Can anyone help? (link)
Facebook has strict privacy settings, for obvious reasons so there's probably no way you'll be able to hack into his account. As far as being "facebook friends" with him to access photos and info that he allows friends to see, try a different approach when attempting to communicate.

If you use Facebook, don't harass him with Facebook chats and countless friend requests. Maybe Facebook message or email him and say something simple and honest. Maybe say you don't have to be Facebook friends but are just curious about him. Mention you don't necessarily need him back in your life right now, and that you don't want his life to change at all, you just wanted to say hi and you'd love to hear back from him but if not, you understand.

You can always make up a "fake" Facebook, after creating an additional gmail email address to register with. It's against Facebook laws so I'm not promoting this, but I cannot imagine life without knowing one's own father and I understand you are desperate to somehow understand who he is. If you do, make the fake person's hometown on the other side of the country so he doesn't suspect anything.

Good luck.

I've been tanning for a while now. From my knees up I can get pretty dark. But below my knees I can't tan. It gets some color but barely any. Is there a tanning lotion I can use to make my legs look even with the rest of my body?

Please and thank you! :) (link)
Loreal Subline Bronzer is my ultimate favorite! I put it on every day right when I get out of the shower, followed by an anti-aging lotion (you DID say you were tanning, right?!) It doesn't really matter what lotion you use, but doing so decreases streaks.
I find that this self tanner is great because it builds upon itself, meaning that you can experiment a bit and gradually work up your legs to match the shade of the rest of your skin.

With any self tanner, be wary of using it on around the toes and heels of feet...the rough part of your skin will soak up any self tanner at a different rate and the unevenness will lead to more streakiness.

Other than that, good luck!

can someone tell me why guys are so into boobs? i mean, i always hear boys saying"well i dumped her because she is soooooooooooo flat!" what do middle school kids need to be worrying about that stuff? and why do boys even need to worry about it? (link)
On a National Geographic show that I watched about our ancestors, the cavemen, way back in the day, it gave quite a strange but logical answer:

When we were cavemen and women, we mated like other animals; doggie style and so the shear image of the female's bottom signaled the cavemen that they'd be getting some "action" soon, thus promoting excitement and interest...

If you think about it, cleavage looks like...well, a butt crack! The boys in middle school can't help it, they are have programmed instincts (thanks to these cavemen) and the image of cleavage subconsciously alerts their brain that they'll be getting "action" soon, thus making them just as excited and crazy as their cavemen ancestors!

when you're getting food delivered to your house,
is it okay to give a big bill with tip and delivery charge included or do you have to break it down and tip the driver/delivery person specifically with change? or do they do all that change stuff down at the eatery? (link)
If you're ordering food to your home, the tipping method depends on method of payment...

If you pay by credit card, you'll give your credit card info over the phone. The dollar or so charge for delivery is automatically added to the total. When the pizza guy arrives at the door, you'll have to sign the receipt (since you used a credit card) and on the line above your signature is where you write in the amount you'd like to tip. I usually do a $2 tip for like a $15 pizza, of course I round up and usually paying a bit more to even out the change, since most food delivery totals will be like $14.67 or some other random number!

If you pay by cash, you tell the person on the phone after ordering that you'll pay with cash. This time when the pizza guy comes, he'll say something like "Okay, this will be $15." This price includes the delivery fee.

If all you have is a 20 dollar bill, and you'd like to leave a 2$ tip in this instance, hand him the 20 dollar bill and ask for 3$ back. You wouldn't ever say, "can i have 3 dollars and twenty six cents back?" since he wont have the change and it's weird to be so exact!
$20 bill-$15 pizza-2$ tip = 3$

If you hand him the 20 dollar bill and don't ask for change back, he'll most likely ask you "do you need any change?" in case you forget or feel weird asking for your $3 back.

Or, of course have the correct amount including tip in cash ready to go so you're all set. Some delivery people won't have exact change!

There is a tattoo shop in town doing an anniversary special, any small tattoo for $35. I plan on getting something but I'm worried about under tipping. Should I do 15% of the special price or the price I think something that size would normally be? (link)
When any business is having a special, it's customary to leave a 20% tip on what the price of the item or service SHOULD have been.

Of course it's different if there's one special item on a something like a restaurant menu, let's say half off well drinks, and you order an appetizer, dinner etc. then it's fine to tip on the total, disregarding how much the drink should have been.

Remember that the tattoo artists are probably slightly bumming out about the deal special, knowing that most people are cheap and will probably tip on the special price and they'll make less off the same tattoo. Then again, it will make up for it since they will have more clients than usual and most importantly, will try to satisfy you and turn you into a returning customer! So, if they do a great job let them know with a great tip and maybe next time they'll remember you and treat you a little better!

Baby shower invitations were mailed stating "no children under the age of 12 please" per the expectant mother's request. I just recieved a call from one of the guests asking if she could bring her newborn due to nursing issues. There are several other new mommies invited that have young kids. It is a tea party theme; lots of china and grown up food. How do I handle this without offending this guest and the other Moms that will be here but have not asked if their little ones can come. (link)
It's the expected mothers request for no children under the age of 12. She obviously knows that several guests have children that fall into this category, so it's a polite way of saying no children! To state the obvious, the mother-to-be must likes children if she's having her own, but think about it through her eyes:

She wants to celebrate this exciting event with her friends...not their crying babies! It's a time to get to talk to her friends, get advice, share stories, etc. which would be hard with several newborns.

Don't these guests have a breast pump? Baby showers are typically on Sundays, so Dad will be home from work, so him or a babysitter should be able to handle feeding for a few hours. The mothers and guests deserve a little break away from the kids for this special celebration!

This morning my phone fell in the toilet...it happened before too and I had to get a whole new one. Luckily, this time my phone still works. However, the screens to my Env3 looks like they still have water in them. The front screen even has the color fadding in at the bottum. I was just wondering if the water will either dry up and go away or this is permanent damage? (link)
Whenever a phone, computer, ipod gets water damage, take out the battery immediately and obviously wipe everything dry as best you can.

Fill a large bowl or jar with rice and submerge the cellphone and the battery into it all the way...rice absorbs so it will literally suck much liquid from the tiny crevices in the device.

In the past, I've cured several water-logged phones by placing the phone and the detached battery on top of a television, and turning on the TV. It sounds strange, I know, but something to do with the TV waves seems to cure it. I'm not a huge TV watcher, so I usually kept the volume on mute but the TV "on" and it still worked well, this took several hours to a whole day.

Better yet, place the jar of rice on top of the TV to double up methods!

**DON'T charge your water damaged cell or computer until you are certain its dried inside and out (takes about a day.) Charging your device means electricity is running throughout it...we all know about the dangers of mixing liquid and electricity, plus it will short-out your cell phone. Heat (through hairdryers) also isn't good for it!

Hope that helps!

Okay, I know it's stupid, but I have TONS AND TONS OF STUFF in my room, and I just can't seem to clean it- I just don't know where to start. I'm dead serious, you can't see the floor. And my bedroom has 2 rooms in it, and both are REALLY messy. How should I attack it? I've already tried putting everything in a giant pile on my bed and then sorting through it like that, and picking slips with areas, and neither works. And of course, I've tried the classic 'pick it up and put it where it goes.' Nothing seems to work! Can anyone help? (link)
My friends call me the Clean Queen, my family calls me "The Nazi" so I personally wish I could come myself and clean it but some tips will have to do the trick!

Start by making your bed...it's amazing how much that can instantly help, and inspire you when you're in the dark moments of almost giving up!

1. Get a BIG garbage bag and throw away any trash, paper cups, old receipts, EVERY OLD MAGAZINE IN YOUR POSSESSION, etc.

2. Grab a box (Grocery stores always have leftover cardboard boxes in the back...ask for egg carton boxes, they're a good size...and these are free) and in the box put anything inside that doesn't belong in your room (if you have drinking cups, plates, your sister's headphones, the family cordless phone...you get the idea!)

3. Go around the house and put everything in the box where it belongs until it's empty and use the box to...

4. Make a donation/sell pile! Anyone over the age of 10 doesn't need any stuffed animals, so there's an easy addition to this box. Look in your closet...ditch any shoes you haven't worn the past 6 months. Same for clothing and purses! It will be worth it, I promise you!

5. Buy a cheap paper filing folder thing (Walmart has tons in great colors). Until you purchase this, start a pile of these papers on the floor. Put important receipts, coupons, Birthday and Christmas cards, etc in the pile and once you get the folder, put each in its appropriate place.

6. Mentally divide your room into sections, probably easiest by type of furniture: BOOKSHELF, DESK, NIGHTSTAND, ARMOIRE/DRESSER.

Look on your bookshelf and think long and hard about each book and item...push some stuff on your floor to the side and make a "keep" pile on the floor, and bring over your sell/donate box as well as the trash bag. Go thru each item and put it in "keep" pile, donate/sell box or trash. Don't be conservative...aim to donate/sell a ton! Do the same to each piece of furniture!

7. By now you've probably had to take several trips to the dumpster and Salvation Army...which is GOOD because so much stuff is cleared out by now! Tackle the floor next. Pick up an item and ask "Keep, Donate, or trash?" each time until the job is done!

8. Reserve a large drawer somewhere in your room as your "technology drawer." As a personal organizer, I make sure every client has one, you'll love it! In here, put your ipod, headphones, digital camera, all the cords, computer game disks, old CDs, etc. If you can't find a drawer, buy a plastic drawer system at Walmart when you pick up your file folder thing mentioned earlier!

9. Donate your items, or sell them (as a kid i'd make a TON of
$ selling my old stuff at our annual garage sale!) and throw away the trashbags.

10. With all the stuff cleared out of the furniture, grab windex and some paper towels and wipe down the furniture (there's always some dust!) then go to your "Keep" pile and start organizing items onto your new empty bookcase, nightstand, desk, etc.

*The best trick is to realize you don't need all the stuff. Donate it to someone in need who'll appreciate it versus it sitting on your bookshelf and gathering dust. Or, if you're the one in need of some extra cash, sell it at your next garage sale! Ask your family and neighbors to clean their rooms/homes and voila! You have the great start to a garage sale! Be sure to take out an Ad in the local newspaper for publicity! I bought some packs of diet coke and waters and stuck them in a large cooler at our last garage sale and sold them to our overheated customers, making quite a profit off that as well!

Good luck :)

is it possiable to loose weight without exercise?

i walk everywhere, its my only form of exercise but im on a strict diet.

will my body get weird if i dont work out when i diet? (link)
Yes it's possible! After college I needed to lose the ten pounds that I had gained over its course (I certainly deserved it after partying 5 nights a week and eating whatever I wanted all the time!) so I went on Weight Watchers!
Being in the "real world" and working I didn't have time to go to the gym so I started substituting certain foods and eating tiny "snacks" throughout the day instead of three big meals.

Buy smaller plates and bowls...trust me on this! In the morning I mix FiberOne cereal (the original, not the sugary versions that are out now) with a dash of oatmeal and some chopped strawberries with some organic skim milk. It's delicious and the bowl is so small but afterwards, I always feel surprisingly full!

Lunch...try HALF a small turkey sandwich, or make a wrap substituting a large lettuce leaf for the bread. I personally am a carb fan so I love getting a fresh loaf of bread from the grocery (Walmart has great fresh bread!) The loafs are smaller so when you slice them for a sandwich it's automatically smaller but tastes so good you forget you only have half!

Invest in 100 calorie packs for dessert! I always crave chocolate, and 100 calorie packs are awesome (Keebler makes great mini fudge stripe cookies) and paired with a large glass of skim milk it's a great dessert

Eat slowly to trick your stomach into feeling full...I'm a talker so when my husband and I eat dinner it's pretty easy to find dinner taking an hour or longer to finish!

Exercise always helps, but sometimes after a hard workout I feel more hungry and since I "was good and worked out" I sometimes would feel that I deserved a big dessert!

Good luck!

***To answer your question, I lost an average of 1 -2 lbs. a week...without working out, and just eating right! Of course, the more weight you have to lose, the more pounds you can take off per week. When I got back to 120 lbs, I followed the maintenance program through weight watchers to keep it off! It ended up taking about 8 weeks.
Hope that helps!

I'm going to be a freshman in college next year. I plan on having a single dorm room. It basically consists of a twin bed (that i could raise if i wanted to), and on the opposite wall a desk, mirror and sink, and all the rest of the wall is closet space. It looked really boring when it didnt have anything in it and i want some suggestions on what i can do with it to make it prettier. Oh and im a girl (link)
This website has awesome decals!
http://www.walldecorshops.com/groupwallpops.html

Also, call your university (most are open for phone calls during the summer) and ask their suggestion for hanging pictures, posters, etc. At my school, the bottom of the crown moldings had a groove where small gold hooks could fit all the way around. I found some cute ribbon at JoAnn fabrics and used it with the hooks to hang pictures and a mirror.
A full length mirror is a must!
Same with bedraisers...I kept my printer under my bed along with pull out storage bins from Bed, Bath and Beyond (If you have a store near you, I'd highly recommend it for college dorms...they have everything you'd ever want, including bedding!

Beware of buying everything online if you're buying from different companies...two colors on the website screen might LOOK the same on the computer, but when they arrive in the mail they might be completely different shades. Find your bedding, window treatments, etc in person. if you must find them online, stick to the same company or go with 2-3 complimentary colors.
For my window treatments freshman year, I used these pretty green and white striped Ralph Lauren fabric shower curtains! Using a few safety pins I bunched up the top part and they looked pretty profesional!

Remember flowers...they add freshness and brighten up the room!

Good luck!

I have one dog, who is 3. She was a bit hard to potty train, & for some reason when she was younger she thought my room was the room to pee in. I tried removing the stains, and some
came up, but not all. Will the new puppy think she can pee in my room too? What kind of stain remover should I use? I've tried resolve and stop spot (link)
If the stains from the first dog are still there, the new puppy will surely smell the first dog, and especially if the puppy is male, will want to mark his territory by urinating in the same spots. Keep the puppy in other rooms of your home at first, and when you can keep a close eye on him/her, allow the puppy into your room. If they start having an accident, scold them with a quick, high pitched "uh ah!" noise to scold them while picking them up and bringing them outside to the place they SHOULD be using the restroom. NEVER hit or hurt the puppy, but if you slowly introduce your puppy to your room, they should be fine.
If you still have your 3 year old dog who did the accidents and the two get along, the smell won't be quite as threatening to the new puppy, which might help.
For pet stains, the trick is to clean them up as SOON as they happen...I just used soap and water! To completely disinfect the accident, I sprayed Lysol anti-bacterial spray afterwards. The offending odor of the spray will keep your puppy away from the area. Don't overload on the disinfecting spray however, the chemicals aren't good for you or your pet!

My boyfriend and I have been having sex for the past week. I let him cum inside me every time because of something he told me before. I mentioned this to my friend and she told me that he lied.

If you pee right after you have sex can you still get pregnant? My boyfriend told me that a girl who pees directly after intercourse can NOT get pregnant no matter what because everything is released into the toilet then and is like washed away. It sounded very convincing when he said it but when I was telling my friend it kind of sounded like he was just using me and that I'm stupid. What's the truth? (link)
Peeing right after sex does NOT stop pregnancy, but it does help flush away bacteria that causes urinary tract infections.

The main reason that urinating after sex doesn't prevent pregnancy is because urine doesn't come out of the vagina!

Talk to your doctor about birth control, and if you're worried, you can take the morning after pill up to 5 days after sex.

I'm pretty tan right now. I'm wondering if i buy stuff from a beauty shop to bleach my semi-noticeable mustache will you be able to see the blonde hairs? I figure since i'm tan the light color might show up on my skin... (link)
I'd suggest the Sally Hansen Extra Care Cream Hair Bleach kit. I'm tan as well, but since I use self tanners in addition to the tanning bed, I noticed it lightened the skin underneath a bit, most likely because the bleach was lifting off my fake self tanner!

So... if you're naturally tan (from your nationality, tanning bed, laying out) I'd suggest the Sally Hansen kit:

http://www.sallyhansen.com/product.cfm?product=119

If you use self tanners, lotions that tint, etc. I'd suggest plucking...it hurts but the results last a lot longer and no risk of bleaching the skin underneath.

Hope that helps!
