I have two dogs, one by the name of symba... and one, by the name of Brownie, and i love both of them equally. Though, lately they have been extremly burdensome, especially each time they run away...poop or pee on thier bed or in the house and have to continously be groomed and get thier monthly shots (which are very expensive). So... every once and a while... my mother will suggest giving them away to one of her close friends, who would take equally good care of them since, (now that my brother has moved out to collage..) are sometimes left outside for the entire school day and only given walks once a week. the problem is, as stubern as it may seem, i love my dogs dearly and could never give them away. never. Am i being impossible... how can i show my mom that they are extremly special to me and i love them too much to give them away...

Well, my cat was a burden too, and one day my dad gave her away w/o telling me. Tell your mom how you feel, that you are not trying to be selfish, it's just you love them sooo much and you would be heartbroken w/o them. you are not being impossible. You are acting like a normal person. Tell your mom you can't just give away a family memeber. Hope I helped.

Everytime i leave my 1 year old puppy alone, like when i take my brother to work in the mornings, and there is nobody up to watch him, he always gets into things. Like this morning, he chewed my clock, and my medicine *was way out of reach* was in the floor chewed on. Thankfully he didnt get any of it though. My question is, 1. how can i stop him from chewing on things that he is not suppost to, and 2. is there other way other than locking him up in his carrier?

Well,I have a 2 year old husky and he does the same thing. To get the dog tostop when you get home and find something ripped,eaten, etc. then Show it to the dog and then put him in his crate, carrier, etc. That is what i do with my dog and he is making great progress. As for the carrier, until he stops doing thta there is basicallly no other place toput him.Tell me how it works out!

my cat constantly follows me and everytime i sit down she comes to sit on top of me.. i will get up andmove somewhere else but she still sits on me.. i push her away but 2 minutes later she comes up again.. i know its cute and everything but it just really annoys me sometimes.. does anyone elses cats do this.. how do you get them to stop

Wow-ur cat must really love you. The cat probably thinks of you as its mother and follows you like they always show ducklings doing. Whenever the cat follows you or gets on the couch beside you, put it down on the floor, tap its nose and say firmly, NO,BAD. Eventually the cat should realize that it should not follow you all the time. Tell me how it turns out!

Ok. My cat Zoey will not stop pooping on the floor! She has a litter box and all she does is poop on the floor right next to it. She's not a baby, shes almost 4 yrs. old and she's always used the litter box fine, just recently she has started doing this, her litter box is clean because i clean it at least once every two days and i dont know what to do with her anymore, she has done this at least 10 times. I know that like putting their nose in it and saying no works on dogs but does it work od cats? Please if anyone knows anything i can do then tell me! Thanks in advance!

Your cat may be getting sick, my old cat was doing the same thing, so we took it to the vet. They said it was sick but i can't remeber what the sickness was. WE had to put it to sleep. I would see a vet soon so they can help it.

We recentley got rid of my beloved pet, Mac. He was a yellow lab, 6months old and like 154 pounds. i loved hime so much and whenever i think about him or ee pics of him i start to cry. How can i get over this?

That's so ironic, because i am going through the same thing! We got rid of my cat that i have had since i was three!!! It was ssoooo sad. I still think about her, but i tell myself that she is happier where she isnow then when she was here(whether that may be true or not) I completely can relate. Just give yourself time to heal- it won't happen overnight. Write me back and we can grieve together :(

My mother bought me a beta fish (a Japanese fighting fish) and I have no idea how to take care of it. I got a book on how to take care of it, but you have to decode it (meaning I don't understand a word of it) The local veterenarians don't really know how to take care of these fish because not alot of their clients have fighting fishes. Does anyone on Advicenators know ANYTHING about these fishes? Do you know any sites where I can find information?

WEll it is very simple to take care of a beta fish. Go tou your local pet store and buy some bet fish food. Feed the fish 2-3 pellets every other day. Every week refill you fish bowl with water but never use tap water, it could kill it. Use bottle water (buy a gallon of poland springs water, etc.) Every month, clean the tank entirely! Also make sure you don't put your fish in a dark area. They like sunlight.

Me and my brother both bought Betta Splendens. (Better known as-Siamese Fighting Fish) We wanted to know how much to feed them we bought tiny pellets that they have at the pet store. We both have males so they cannot be together. How much do we feed them a day? How much do we change their water and any other basics? Thanks.

well, you should feed each fish around 2-3 pellets every other day. You should refill the tank every week but clean it entirely every month

If there are any cat experts out there, I need your help! My cat has constantly been throwing up her food twice a day for almost a week! (She's not bulimic!LOL)What's wrong??? I rate 5's!

I am not totally sure what is wrong, but it might be the food you are feeding it. It could be making the cat sick. Try buying a different type of food. My cats eat Fancy Feast and are fine with it. If this still doesn't work then i would reccomend seeing a vet.

My cat has no cat fod and shes really really hungry..i loooked for some tuna at least for her but no, and teh pet store is closed, and i found some sardines..can i give my cat some sardines?? there was sardines in mustard, tomato sause, and soybean oil, should i give her the one in soybean oil or will it make her sick?? i need an answer quick cuz she needs her dinner!! thanks!

Well, i wouldn't give the cat the sardines. Like milk, it is a myth that this stuff is good for your cat. If you have absolutely no food, give them white chicken and the juice of the tuna to the cat. Hope it helps!
