when i get nervous on stage i just close my eyes for the first part and once i get used to it, i open my eyes and then everythings fine =D have faith in yourself.
hey! i need a funny monologue for a 14 year old! thank yoU! =] (link)
Dont do monolauges from movies or anything like that. they will just be comparing you to the actor or actress who did it origionally. you could search google for monolauges. i found some pretty good ones on there. they should normally be around a minute and try to memorize about 3 because if the person your auditioning with has heard the one you do a million times you can tell them u have other ones prepared...it shows you care about what you do...good luck!

Like so many other teenage girls, I want to be a model or movie star.
I was wondering how to get into either buisinesses, and tips on how to be good. Also, how can I convince my parents to let me audition if i do find something?? How do I know if I am good enough?? Or pretty enough?? How do I audition??HELP!!!
THANK YOU!! f/13 (link)
In order to be in the buisness doesnt mean how pretty you are. modeling could be the case but not acting. you need to look like the charecter they are trying to create. sometimes you could be the best actor in the world but not fit the part so you wont get it. acting is all about rejection. you need to get an agent or manager and headshots. make sure your serious in this buisness before oyu get either of them....headshots are EXPENSIVE and agents dont cost a thing. if they get you work they take 10% of what you make. xoxo

okay.
does anyone remember the show that was on tv .. probably early morning about 5 years ago. it was on TLC but it could have been on other channels.
it was a man who would draw a picture with a black marker first then color it in. it was kind of like a drawing entertainment show.
i would really like to know what this show was called!
SOMEBODY HELP! thank you. (link)
OMG!!! haha i used to draw everything he made! i think it was called PAPPYLAND. =DD thanks for bringing back memories!! haha xoxo
For an audition I'm singing a song called "Shy" from Once Upon a Mattress. If you are familiar with the song can I please have some pointers or cute movements that are fitting? Thanks! 15/F (link)
Okay well im not familiar with the song but just be yourself. Dont just stand there with your hands to your sides playing with your clothes...it happenes naturally just make sure your not doing it. It might be hard but you can pratcice this in front of your friends so your not so nervous. it helps my science teacher made me sing in front of the whole class cuz i had an audition later that day and it made me 10 times less nervous than i already was. Dont move around too much like walking around...no...also dont make it look choergraphed. just do whatever youd like. its good you want to be able to move around because then it shows your more comftorable. Good luck and remember to be yourself!!! xoxo
can anyone give me advice on acting..i want to get better...i have theater at school and i love it..just want to know what makes a great actress..thanksss (link)
Pratcice Pratcice Pratcice. Im tellin ya great actors wouldnt be where they are today without acting classes. I strongly recommend that you go out and get into some classes. They arnt cheap im telling you but theyre worth it....trust me! xoxo good luck!
hokay.
i want to get an agent or do headshots or something to jumpstart my career as an actress and i was wondering if anybody knew somewhere i could do this? thanks! (link)
You might want to get headshots before entering the acting buisness with an agent and all that. Headshots cost a lot of money so make sure its something your gonna stick with for a while. My headshots costed about 400$ which is cheap but still a good price. Once you have headshots you want to pick a commerical headshot and a theatrical headshot from the bunch. a commerical headshot is where your smiling and all that jazz. and a theatrical headshot is where your serious...no smile this headshot you will submit for movies. Once you get them printed you will want to send them to agents with a cover letter saying your name and stuff hoping you will get a call for an audition. This is the hardest part of the buisness. Agents and managers are very cruel towards kids acting in the buisness even adults. They say mean stuff that will make you cry but you gotta get over it. Once you have that done you need to get exposer doing anything you can...backround, independant films anything you can find go for it!! Just keep your hopes high and youll do fine! hope i helped! xoxo. good luck with everything

ohkay, well. as you can tell i really want to get into acting. welll by my topic lol.

how do i start getting into acting? [[ive already done some school plays]]
does anyone know any good acting classes that are for fall or winter?
thank you
or is there anything else i should know?

Well you first need to get headshots. those cost around 400$ to get them done and printed. Once youve done that you need to find an agent. This is one of the most hardest parts in an acting career. it took me about 3 months to find one. Let me tell you agents and managers are very harsh. One told me that i was a wonderful actor its just i needed to loose a few pounds so she didnt accept me. i went home crying.... not a lovely sight. once youve found one and you have signed a contract, they will send you on auditions. NEVER give an agent money up front...if they ask for money its a scam leave the place as soon as they ask. You will only pay them once you book a job. and they only take 10% i believe, managers take 15% of what you make. Classes arnt nessasary but they are very helpful. Classes arnt cheap may i add, but theyre deffinetly worth it. If you have anymore questions just ask me. ive been acting for 3 years so i know a lot about the scams and stuff. hope i helped! xoxo

i cant get over my fear of singing infront of people. my dream is when io finish college is to move to California and become a singer and actressand if that doesnt work then like a phsycologist for kids. i cant even sing infront of my own family. if done it infront of three of my friends but that was it and i wanna sing infront of my mom because i get my talent from her. she has the best voice. i wanna do the talent show too but i cant do that. i get real embarresed when i try singing in the shower cause if my dad hears me hell go,"sing brianna sing," and then that makes me nervous and then i stop. i really want to become a singer. i can act just fine. i do it in a heart beat. i dont get nervous or anything. ive been in chior and everything. so what can i do to get over my fear. ive tried singing in the shower and in my room. i only sing by myself too. when nobody is home. so if you have any answers please tell me!! thatks to everyone who helps!!! (link)
I'm the same way sometimes. When someone tells you to sing you get all nervous and afraid. You just gotta be cofident in yourself and not care what other people think. xoxo
Hey!
I'm sorry if i ask too many questions, its just that I'm very curious on how to get into acting and you seem very experienced.
1.) What do I do if my mom says I'd be a good actress [[school plays]] but whenever I ask her about acting workshops, etc. She always never says anything.
2.) What if I don't have any theatres or acting camps around me, what should I do?
3.) Is there anything else I should know about acting? [[I've just started getting interested in it and I've only done about two school plays]]
Thank you SO much if you can answer these.! (link)

1. School Plays are a good way to get expirence. The more you show her you want to take acting seriously she should help.
2. Thats hard...Most of my friends that are actors travel. Some are from Florida even and they came out to cali to do classes and shoot films and commericals. All i have to say to that is get a monolauge that fits you, you might have to buy a book. Some people dont need acting lession its comes naturally, my main sugestion is that you put yourself in the story, pick a monolauge that you can relate to.
3. Headshots are a must have! they are quite expensive may i add. Mine were about 300$ and then you have to pick one and get them printed (that costs around 100$) so you might need to save up. When you audition for an agent or manager, they are VERY picky and VERY mean. i went to audition for a manager once and she said was an AMAZING actress but i need to loose a few pounds. Even if your the skinnest person in the world they will say that its just a way of saying "No get the hell outta here i never wanna see your face in my life ever again" just in a nicer way. Just do me a favor hun, and NEVER give up on your dreams. xoxo
what exactly is ur show about, the one that u go to show camp for? (link)
Well Its called California The Musical. It basically is about why people came to California. It goes through the Goldrush, indians, and my personal favorite section...HOLLYWOOD!!! haha im not really sure about anything else but its gonna be an awesome show!! Its at the colony theatre. IM me for more information. The shows are August 17 18 19 and 20. Hope to see you there! xoxo
ok well, i would really like to get into acting.
does anyone know any acting workshops that arein//around CHicago, IL?
thAnk you so much!
(link)
Well first off you need an agent. An agent will send you out on auditions and calls and stuff like that. But before you go out on auditions you need headshots. Those can cost around 250-400$. If you have anymore questions feel free to ask. I have been acting since i was 10 years old.
What advice would you give a 14 year old aspiring actress who's parents don't give a damn about her dreams, who lives out in the country, and isn't the stereotype of pretty? (link)
Get into clubs in school. Send a picture of you to an agent and hopefully set up an audition with them. You dont have to be pretty to be an actress you just need the talent. Although some agents are very cruel dont let that bring you down. Hope you have fun and follow your dreams!
Hi. My theatre company is putting on a production of "My Fair Lady" and the auditions are really soon. I want to try out for Henry Higgins or Col. Pickering, but I need to learn an english accent. Can anyone help? (link)
You can watch an English movie with the accent in there. Just try your best. Even if you arnt good at the accent they will want you for your acting ability. Have Fun!!
to start a career in acting would it be best to get an agent?.. if so.. how much are they and where can i get a good one? are there any other ways to get started? thank you! (link)
To start in acting it would be best to get headshots they cost about 300$ and then you have to get the printed which is about 100$. Once you audition and get accepted with an agent they will NEVER ask you for money upfront. once you start working they take 10% from your paycheck. There are agents all over the place mainly in LA and Hollywood.
